I have two of this Anders guitars and I love them. One a blanca and the other is a cedar top hybrid. It has an incredible soul and beautiful sound. It can sing sweetly or growl when laid into. He is totally connected to the process and he is the real deal. This is becoming a lost art.

Is the neck facing up a little bit?, because is i can see you put something under it. So it looks as if it is going down. When it is going up the strings come higher, unless you lower the bridge. It is confusing. Can you explain it. Thank you very much

Great video. I have a question. I had a small luthier here in Indonesia where I live now make me a flamenco negra guitar using a Marcelo Barbero guitar plan. He used Indian rosewood which there is a lot here in Indonesia for back/sides, german spruce for top, mahogany for the arm and ebony for finger board and bridge. The problem I find is that the guitar for a flamenco guitar is very heavy. I've had played flamenco guitars before that are sooo much lighter. The sound is ok, but not loud and lacks brightness. He no longer lives in this area, he made this guitar for me about 8 yrs ago. The construction is very strong, but heavy and the arm and fingerboard are difficult to tame.
My question to anyone who knows about this is, Can all these be fixed? I think even the bracing wood should be reduced. The wood is beautiful and it had been dry for over 15 yrs accoding to him. But the guitar just feel heavy and clumsey for a Barbero flamenco plan. Were Barbero's guitars made more on the heavier side? I want to keep this guitar. Any suggestions? Thank you all in advance!
i think it is heavy because rosewood back and side.
good old solid rosewood is heavy or super heavy if taken from an old furniture for example
had no idea it was this involved... embarrased to admit it. Ill be paying way more respect to my guitar from now on

Could you please explain why you say negative angle and put this shim so you get the opposite result?i mean if you want the fret board to have an angle (2 " for example) so the neck comes forward ,but putting this shim it seems that you go 2" backwards.....
or am I missing something you don't explain in your solera???

+THEODOROPOULOS DIMITRIS Making an angle offset towards the back of the guitar is like pre-tensioning the whole thing to withstand higher string tension like the ones on a flamenco guitar, so that this string tension brings the fretboard more to the front. Just imagine that if he does not do it he will get higher distance between the fingerboard and the strings. It is just a compensation in angle for tension.
+Chava Flores ok but with this way you have a higher action in bridge.I mean that in Flamenco guitars, we want about 7-8 mm action in bridge.With this way you describe you never achieve those actions.So we cannot talk about Flamenco guitars,perhaps classical...

***** I'm spanish myself and possibly could name a hundred native spaniard guitarreros. Some of them I've known personally. Currently Paco Chorobo is building a flamenco negra for me. Fantastic luthier by the way.
