That said, Subaru is in that group simply because everyone refers to her as a duck, even if she isn't actually themed around being a duck.
So according to HoloLive, Death isn't cold or impersonal, nor is it something to be feared. Rather it's a friend you never knew you had welcoming your tired soul in a surprisingly warm embrace.
This is more or less just a return to how death was seen before the black plague. It wasn't until everyone started dying in droves from disease that Europeans at least, started thinking of death as cruel and hostile. Prior to that most religions had specific figures that lead you to the afterlife like an old friend. These were called Psycopomps, and you cand find many of them in ancient mythology.
When I look at Holodeath I think about the clip where Suisei sorted the girls by Cute, Cool and Passion. Holodeath has all three and I feel like that really allows them to harmonize together as a group. The Cute (Rushia), Cool (Calli), and Passion (Ollie) are different enough that it meshes perfectly. Each of their strengths fills in a spot where the others may lack creating a prefect group.
Sasuga Suicopath, her abilty to see through people is akin to Saiga Joji. Who knows what she could possibly do if she abused such ability?! Jokes aside, I wish does another stream like than since there are new members. Oh, it would be a surprise if she included the managers and staff, lmao.
Rushia is sooooooooooooooo sweet, remember the first time I watched her clip I thought that she was a hot-tempered and impatient necromancer-being. But after 3 months watching her live stream, that was completely wrong, the reason why she get super mad and scream is to make the live stream funnier and happier Edit: *sugamama confirmed*
This! At first I only watched her from clips and I thought I wouldn't like her because she looks always angry. When I tried to start watching her stream, she's actually not like that, she's super sweet and cute. I rarely see her angry like in the clips. The more I watch her, the more I love her. Also makes me understand why she is on the top list of the most superchatted.
Her screaming antics that rival all death metal vocalists are just part of her charm because the real Ruu-chan is more than that. She's the sweetest, most caring and kindest person. She's like the little sister we all want to protect. Man I love being a Fandead

Honestly, I did not think Holodeath would have very much chemistry. I thought it was a fun themed unit that would eventually make some great music, but wouldn't end up meeting in normal streams more than a couple times a year. Oh how wrong I was. Give them a bit more time and this group could be something truly legendary. Edit 2/24/22: Actually fuck everything I guess
I have to say that I agree with you there. Initially I didn't think that this group would mesh that well together partially due to the language barrier but I honestly have been pleasantly surprised to see them getting along so well. Let's hope for even more Holodeaths collabs from here on out so that their relationships with each other grow even more from here on out.
HoloDeath is definitely one of the cutest units in Hololive for sure 👍😤👍 Edit:Had to come back and watch this after like a year and change has passed, fuck man Rushia really left a hole in Hololive, HoloDeath would have easily been one of the premiere units in Hololive, ahh well it hurts remembering but I'm glad she was able to bounce back somewhat and that 3rd gen has stayed strong with Rushias absence, 4th gen also had to deal with Coco leaving but they had a whole month to process everything but 3rd gen just had a member erased from one day to another. I'm still a diehard Holofan but this scar will be remembered and I'll hope the company deals with things better should this ever come up again in the future.
Rushia has really grown on me lately. Clips don't do Rushia justice because she spends so much time talking to the chat during SuperChat readings and so on. More interaction than almost any member. Sure, clips of moments when she loses her temper or something are funny, but as Calli pointed out, there's a lot more going on
we did get the chaotic holotori collab on Kiara's channel with worms which was great and was planned for a while to happen. We just gotta get Mumei too but its tougher to get them all together due to timezones being much harder on the global birbs.
It kinda bothers me that most of her clips focus only on her loud side. She's super funny and always plays along with the jokes. And, on top of that, she's VERY sweet to everyone, she takes her time to interact with chat, etc. She's a wonderful lady.

if I remember right that is basically also how it's pronounced in the original Greek, so it might not be getting corrected because it already is one of multiple correct pronunciations.
You know, I thought about this for a hot minute. HoloDeath and UmiSea are two different beasts. The former seems more... well adjusted in terms of balancing the traits of the members since it was something all three agreed upon and their personalities compliment one another. On the other side, UmiSea is kind of... mish-mashed. Aqua and Ina are introverts, Gura is probably between them and leaning introvert, where Marine is the only real outgoing one. Gura is a stranger in strange lands as she doesn't speak a lick of conversational Japanese, leaving the only other EN member to translate and I don't know if Ina is 100% fluent either, she just knows enough to converse, but not all of the intricacies. Correct me if I'm wrong. Aqua and Marine are also strangers to English and while Marine is smart enough to piece some stuff together, it still leaves them at a disadvantage. The Language-Barrier and the fact that Cover just kinda threw them together is what stifles them from really gelling. Back to HoloDeath, Calli doesn't really speak much in the way of Japanese, but she knows enough to get an idea and Ollie is there to fill any gaps. Otherwise, all 3 are entirely comfortable together and Rushia really likes them. She doesn't have to worry about the jokes so much with Ollie around and Calli doesn't care about making them anyways since "ya boy" is super chill. (She did talk about big ones being a pain and they got a little salty about it and she stated, "I'd give some to you guys if I could.") Overall, HoloDeath meshes together better than UmiSea does, because it wasn't exactly forced by the company... AND I'm not sure how much those four actually communicate across borders with each other. (As in, how much Gura and Ina communicate with Aqua and Marine.)
Calli isn’t very confident in her Japanese but she’s lived in Japan for three years and speaks much more than just enough to ‘get an idea’ lol. She’s definitely a higher level than Ollie at the very least, Ollie is fairly new to speaking Japanese as well.

Not including the "Learning Japanese" streams to which she has flash cards for it. As for her music, she has someone translate what she wants and has the romaji put in there. Maybe I'm missing something? I never made a claim either was "better" in the sense of quality. I was just trying to say that HoloDeath is more in-tune than UmiSea. All four are talented in their own rights, but that doesn't mean they'll coordinate well together.

Calli likes translating for the benefit of her viewers, but she has done a handful of Japanese streams / collabs wherein her skill has been properly showcased. She has some gaps in her knowledge of the language, which is mainly conversational but occasionally showcases a much stronger vocabulary. Calli also takes regular lessons and apparently knows all her hiragana and katakana, but is lacking in her kanji.

You know, I thought about this for a hot minute. HoloDeath and UmiSea are two different beasts. The former seems more... well adjusted in terms of balancing the traits of the members since it was something all three agreed upon and their personalities compliment one another.
On the other side, UmiSea is kind of... mish-mashed. Aqua and Ina are introverts, Gura is probably between them and leaning introvert, where Marine is the only real outgoing one. Gura is a stranger in strange lands as she doesn't speak a lick of conversational Japanese, leaving the only other EN member to translate and I don't know if Ina is 100% fluent either, she just knows enough to converse, but not all of the intricacies. Correct me if I'm wrong. Aqua and Marine are also strangers to English and while Marine is smart enough to piece some stuff together, it still leaves them at a disadvantage. The Language-Barrier and the fact that Cover just kinda threw them together is what stifles them from really gelling.
Back to HoloDeath, Calli doesn't really speak much in the way of Japanese, but she knows enough to get an idea and Ollie is there to fill any gaps. Otherwise, all 3 are entirely comfortable together and Rushia really likes them. She doesn't have to worry about the jokes so much with Ollie around and Calli doesn't care about making them anyways since "ya boy" is super chill. (She did talk about big ones being a pain and they got a little salty about it and she stated, "I'd give some to you guys if I could.")
Overall, HoloDeath meshes together better than UmiSea does, because it wasn't exactly forced by the company... AND I'm not sure how much those four actually communicate across borders with each other. (As in, how much Gura and Ina communicate with Aqua and Marine.)
Calli isn’t very confident in her Japanese but she’s lived in Japan for three years and speaks much more than just enough to ‘get an idea’ lol. She’s definitely a higher level than Ollie at the very least, Ollie is fairly new to speaking Japanese as well.
It’s also not a competition as to which is the better group, though Cover could do without forcing collabs like that

You sure? I've heard Ollie speak in clean coherent sentences without help, by comparison to Calli who uses translations and romaji. Not including the "Learning Japanese" streams to which she has flash cards for it. As for her music, she has someone translate what she wants and has the romaji put in there. Maybe I'm missing something?
I never made a claim either was "better" in the sense of quality. I was just trying to say that HoloDeath is more in-tune than UmiSea. All four are talented in their own rights, but that doesn't mean they'll coordinate well together.
@@Maniacman2030 Ollie’s Japanese is okay at best, she’s just confident and extroverted enough to utilize what little she does know effectively. Calli likes translating for the benefit of her viewers, but she has done a handful of Japanese streams / collabs wherein her skill has been properly showcased. She has some gaps in her knowledge of the language, which is mainly conversational but occasionally showcases a much stronger vocabulary. Calli also takes regular lessons and apparently knows all her hiragana and katakana, but is lacking in her kanji.
