Learn to (self-)control your fear of the fear itself. That's what Claire Weeks suggests, to cut the long story short.

Hey Shaan, I can relate to some of Rui’s journey, I just have a question, I have a flight to go to Chicago for the weekend, is it something I should do? Something that will truly help with recovery? Like Rui was, I am currently afraid of flying. Would really appreciate your response!
