    awesome fishing. I totally agree on horsing 'em up if your going to release them. but if you are going to release them don't touch their gills they will die for sure if you do

    Yup. A Minnesota man caught one at Beaudette last winter but it is very rare. there is awesome trout fishing on Lake of the Woods on the Canadian side. They average 12 - 18 lbs up here. Wnat me to show u?

    'horsing' them in is better than playing them until they are totally spent 10 minutes later and then releasing them. Besides. If they look like they're in trouble we eat them. Yum.

    @ummagnu8 man lakers grow 1-1 1/2 pounds a year..i caught a ten pounder today and left fin wat chpped meaning it was a stocker from 1999...i have the stock sheets for my area being zone 15.anyways mnr says a pound a year.ive seen their nets and how they determine the lake trout's sizes from lake to lake.

    I am a fly fisherman and have been involved with releasing fish for capture for years. and trust me the number 1 rule is do not touch the gills. how would you like it if someone rammed their fingers into your lungs??? and how can you be sure that when you have touched their gills they don't die? do you strap a camera to them? who's the fucking idiot now?
