I don’t why but I feel like the atmosphere of Devil’s Dawn is like the point of view of an old retro style pixelated game like a Gameboy color. While Pillar Chase 2 taking the style of a VHS tape, it’s badass! (Correct me if I’m wrong about anything of what I said.)
I like the fact that in Havoc Amongst Midnight when you die of Sonic.OMT that the player tries to fight back by catching the punch. Quite similar to Fnaf 2 reimagined's death animations.
not to be a nerd or anything, but it's actually supposed to be a reference to when knuckles catches the punch/attacks omt in one last round (knuckles demo) and then hallucinates tails, which causes him to lose focus, get his arm ripped off, and head gouged with toung tendril.

Also, HAM is using Smiley's old design, not the new one. (The new one in question is better in every way) So the devs don't even know what the source material is.

i think its just the style of mapping and lighting that makes it look like that.

It's most likely a win animation due to him waving and looking up, he did the same thing in the dead ending where he kills the player.
