that bass intro... Wish we could have gotten the original recording instead of this re-record, but it's still not so bad. Has a very different vibe though, less thrashy now.

There are some other re recordings they've done that are KILLER. They did em mostly to be bonus tracks for the Japanese releases of their newest albums. Most recent was Apocalyptic City off their 1st record The Legacy, and Practice What You Preach before that.
There's an album from the early 2000's called First Strike Still Deadly that features re records of tracks from their two albums and it's not bad, but the ones I mentioned before are more like this Souls re record :)

Found a Rock Band 2 playlist on Spotify a while back ago and heard "Souls of Black" and thought... This is definitely not what I was playing on Rock Band 2 years ago, lol. The RB2 version is WAY better!!!
This game was my first introduction to Testament with souls of black. And then I went and listened to the rest of their discography of songs and damn this band is awesome!

It's been 7 years since I last played this game. Do you know how to unlock characters like the guy with the yellow shirt and black pants. I forget his name but are these quickplay characters you get or they randomly choose?
characters are random in quickplay, I don't know if you can choose to play as him

Well in local tour you can't pick your band member for the song, you make your own guitarist and I thought you could set it to your own settings
Edit: I ment to say that in tour mode you could choose your own guitarist but you had to choose the one you made. You can't choose your singer, bassist or drummer. In quickplay you can choose the default guitarist you want but I thought there maybe some that you can unlock like the one I was talking about on the first comment. Also, I thought you could choose the default characters in tour mode like the singer in this video for example.
Actually, if you go to Band Quickplay, you can actually choose your character, even if you're playing solo. If you're playing with 1-3 people, however, the other musicians will still be randomly chosen.
For example, I always picked Maynard Winter or American Phil. The 3 other characters were chosen for me.
@@akkros707 if he is playing in quickplay, he would choose his character and pick a song. But the points would be from a band. In Solo quickplay you get points from guitar, drums, vocals, or bass.
