- As an official old guy, I love how the digital world has stepped into the world of music to this ridiculous degree, where things like the Kemper Profiler will change the way you record!! Keep in mind, that I had the very first Sony Walkman back in 1979 and the last time I recorded a demo, we were recording onto a DAT tape! Hahaha! So being able to record on your laptop with a few extras like an AxeFX or Kemper is mindblowing. If you've ever considered heading down that road, trust that you too will be shocked and thrilled that you took the big step. There is nothing like a tube amp and 4x12. Nothing. But... Louis, I have to agree with you. That tone was awesome. Us "old" guys need to keep up! As always, keep chugging brother!
Man, it's like stepping into the future! I would look at a Kemper and think, "that's like a space ship!" Hahaha! And yes, I agree that us older dudes need to step up to digital and have it as an option. It's shocking how this thing is. And it's a fake digital tone!! Hahaha!!!
You know... I’m a Helix user, and I’m extremely happy with the tone I’m getting NOW... don’t get me wrong, I LOVE tube amps, a boosted Recto is my favorite sound ever, but I just can’t use it 9 out of 10 times, especially not at home. It took me some time and trying different IRs to dial in the sound I’m happy with. But I’m really happy with my sound now. Like I said, tube amps will always have a special place in my heart, but this is just way more convenient 😂
Yeah bro, trust that I understand you and like you, I appreciate the digital world and how convenient it is for so many applications of playing. Although I love my gear, I love my Kemper and Headrush so much for playing.
I agree man. I've had a kemoer stage for 1 year after resisting anything digital. Now I see no reason to go back. Amazing sounds overall and some of my clean profiles are just beautiful.
Omg, some of the clean tones are absolutely beautiful! I'm not even someone who plays clean but I have and some profiles have great reverb/ echo delays that are hauntingly good! :)
Metallica has been using axeFx live instead of lugging amps around for a few years with matrix power amps. Tone is amazing
Have they! Holy smoke! I'm not shocked that they are. It's incredible how far they've come compared to what was available thirty years ago. :) Thanks for sharing that, Andy! I had no idea! It has to be so much easier for them and no technical/ tube related issues.
Louis my man, kemper sounds good, Fractal is killer but nothing beats an old man in front of a camera with an arsenal of amps behind!! (and of course with the cap back
!!!) Now I understand how in shape you are!! Please make a video when you decide to move your amps to a bigger room!!
Let me tell you something. I bought a Kemper just few months ago, and it’s absolutely insane using it with monitors (+ subwoofer), just amazing metal tones. But...the problem comes when you connect it to a real cab, nothing to do with the valves feeling (I use a Seymour Duncan Powerstage 170w). Neither with an FRFR (I bought the Kemper Kone as well). And you now what, I just ordered a cheap Randall Diavlo to feel again that in-the-room low end and air heating you with the palm mutes 🤘🏼😎. Anyway for me it’s not about choosing digital or valves; let’s have both! (for different situations). Big bands just connect the Kemper to the PA and the wall of sound is stunning 🤷🏻♂️
Oh shit, a subwoofer! I didn't even think of that for the low end! What are you using for a sub and how do you connect it?
I use JBL 305 monitors (5 inches) with a KRK 10 inches subwoofer; day and night. You connect the monitors to the subwoofer and the kemper to the subwoofer (the crossover ensures the right balance of low frequencies). This is my home studio setting and it rocks!
If not I would recommend a real wood cab FRFR, but never a Headrush plastic one 😅

No more hauling around big ass amp heads, this thing has all the tube tone anyone could want. I can‘t distinguish a good profile from a tube head anymore. It‘s amazing.
I was the same , tried some line 6 stuff but all my guitars sounded the same, then years later i got to try a kemper and an engl profile and was blown away

hello, ~46 here :). got a kemper yesterday. I have a power amp (ehx magnum 44) and a 2x12 celestion cab that I'm connecting now to my kemper.
Should I ditch those and buy a headrush frfr instead?
Everyone with a Kemper usually jumps between using an FRFR System and running a poweramp to a cabinet. To be honest, I think it's good to have both. Use the poweramp and cabinet for live shows and the FR speaker for home or rehearsal use.
Love the esp guitars love the amps. Id love to have a kemper just to snag some packs from Josh Middleton of Sylosis dude is a riff machine and has great tone.

@@louistorres he has an stl tonehub preset pack i know nothing about them or kempers to be fair but you may be able to put it on a kemper? Idk look up Josh Middleton on youtube he plays guitar for Sylosis and Architects
Same boat as you, except I went Positive Grid Bias Head to Fractal FM3.
Yeah man, I feel like there's hopping around a bit then everyone ends up with Helix, AxeFx or Kemper.

As someone who owns a wall of fantastic amps, you should be forbidden to own (or try) those kind of hideous things.
Bro, I totally understand and get you. It's like being a cop but you just robbed a drug dealer and kept all their cash. Lol. It's the dark side until you try it. I'm legit floored at how far these things have come. :) I'll never sell my amps but for sure will incorporate the Kemper.
