Good video. Some clarification - the Latitude 5420 can take max. 64GB RAM (2x 32GB DDR 3200MHz). The rugged edition can only take 32GB. Maximum SSD capacity is 4TB.
Thank you so much. I've been trying for days to locate the CMOS BIOS battery and I couldn't find it anywhere. Now I can just unplug it for an hour to reset the BIOS.
Any idea why my 5420!is not detecting the new WD Black 2TB M.2 2280 I just installed? Assuming I didn’t get a dud but the old factory SSD works fine when I pop it back in….anything that needs to be changed on the BIOS? Thanks in advance!
Hello, I've got a dell 5420 latitude with i7 and 32gb of ram but it's advertised at 3200 speed. I only see 2666 and I can't change it. Is there any chance of doing that?
Is there a specific NVME flash drive I need to upgrade my 5420 ?? I have what appears to be two slots. Can i just leave the original 256GB flash drive (which obviously has the O.S on it), and just add another drive to enable larger storage ?? I'm just running out of storage space. Thanks for the video.
Hi, our website says you can use 2tb NVME but Dells spec sheet for the 5420 says 1tb. The spec sheet is outdated, so I'd say that you can use a 2tb since we have it listed as compatible.
@@dellpartspeople hi, do you think that one SSD Samsung 990 PRO 2TB NVMe M.2 2280 (Read til 7450MB/s and Write til 6900MB/s) is able to function successfully? Can I install this SSD without any problems?

Actually it could support the momory up to 64gb
You're totally right. 32GB max per slot for a total of 64GB.

Thanks for the video.
Can i add hdd to the ssd cuz 256g isn't enough and the hdd more cheaper
Unfortunately this model does not support HDD.
can you replace a non touchscreen lcd with a touchscreen? I'd imagine so since the video says touchscreen upgrade, but figured i'd ask to make sure.
Yes this model does have compatible touchscreen LCD's that can be installed. ppci.me/c/140/1468/lcd+screen
how large a ssd can you put into the Dell Latitude 5420 (ssd capacity)?
