I've just now finished watching the series. It was simply beautiful and affected me deeply. I never knew about the book. I even hesitated watching it; I'm so sick of Russia. But in the end, I had to see Ewan McGregor. He's one of my favorite actors. Thank you to all who brought me this story. It was a gift.
A gentleman in Moscow is an amazing book. I reread it about every 6 months. I’m so excited about this series

This show beginning-to-end was brilliant. The book was wonderful and the translation to screen was worthy of Towles story.
I am going to watch it again and again.

I remember when Evan McGregor played Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars prequel trilogy and his own part series on Disney+ too.
I first saw him in Trainspotting when I was 12.. so in 1999. Been in love ever since 😂
Beautiful series. Incredible characters, lavish set and stunning costumes support a wonderful script and flawless acting. Couldn’t get enough of it! Can’t wait to start on the book.
The first two episodes are perfection. Ewan McGregor does an amazing job. I’m reading the book now.

Excellent novel to highlight how too much government (socialism, Communism) is so bad!!
It's more about human dignity than politics. The events outside the hotel barely get a mention except that it's an oppressive regime. Communist, capitalist...same difference.

Trump's favorite lender, Deutsche Bank has worked closely with Russian state institutions, and in 2015 the bank’s Russian arm was implicated in a $10 billion Russian money-laundering scheme.
A 2017 report by Reuters, citing public documents, interviews and corporate records, also found that at least 63 Russians or people with Russian addresses bought nearly $100 million worth of property in seven Trump-branded Florida luxury buildings.

The book was painfully long - hope the movie deals with that
Ewan's face looks like he had a choice of a promotional tour or 2 years of daily UN-sedated colonoscopies ---- and he's still undecided if he made the right choice.
McGregor filed for divorce from his first wife, Eve Mavrakis, in January 2018*, after 22 years of marriage.
*the year after McGregor worked with Winstead.
