@@zaidenRYUZAKIIt's literally canon lmao Tite Kubo expanded on it on CFYOW (commonly called Cant Fuck Your Own Wife LN jokingly). It's canon that Ukitake due to his whole god deal could see Soul King candidates, Ichigo and Ginjo were both SK candidates due to their Hybrid natures.
When Yhwach killed his dad, and before Yhwach foresaw that Ichigo would be made the new SK and wanted to spare him that fate, Ichibei fully planned on doing the same mutilation ritual on Ichigo than the Great Noble Families did on the SK way back then. It's literally the reason why his friends were given the Soul Tickets- so they could visit him and see his "honorable sacrifice" when in reality they never thought he could actually defeat Yhwach, thus the original plan was to take his defeated body over to be mutilated and then put inside the prison crystal by the Monk.
After Yhwach was defeated, it's implied Ichibei took Yhwach's corpse and made it the new SK. He was disappointed he didn't get to cut into Ichigo.
It's horrifying but it's unfortunately all canon, the "good guys" in Bleach are all mostly real POS
A destroyed bankai can never be restored, the only exception is renji's false bankai, sajin komamura's and ikkaku's *who proceeded to never show his bankai again* these are considered canon per mayuri's manga explanation
Renji and ikkakus aren't exceptions.
Mayuri specifically says "the parts of Renjis bankai that broke during his battle with byakuya are still broken to this day"
He also states that Ikkakus Bankai is still broken as well.
The only reason Sanjin Komamuras Bankai can be repaired is because anytime either Bankai or User takes damage the other is damaged as well. Also when one rests and heals the other does as well.
