on the question of the Thumb Rest, So I looked at your site references and it still did not 100% resolve my question for my setup so maybe someone here can answer. This is how it is stated as to what a Thumb Rest is. "A thumb rest is a device that is attached to the frame with the purpose of reducing recoil." Great but my Thumb Rest is NOT attached to the frame. Next I found this "For Production and Carry Optics, the appendices (D4, Item 22.2 and D7, Item 21.4, respectively) state that the grips cannot be modified to create a thumb rest" Great my Thumb rest is NOT part of the grips. Then I found this "I have heard recently that aftermarket replacement small-parts that double as a thumb rest are allowed?” Yes, since March 2018, when the new Production and Carry Optics appendices were approved by the USPSA Board of Directors, the replacement of minor external components are allowed with factory and aftermarket parts" Bingo my Thumb Rest is a direct replacement for the Slide lock making it double as a Slide lock and a Thumb Rest! So if I show up at a meet where do I point them for this exact rule? It says rule change in 2018 but does not point to a specific appendix
Man since I became an RO, the questions i get. When in doubt just send an email to uspsa headquarters in Washington. Troy McManus can answer your questions. But again, look at the rules. All the rules are on the uspsa website. You can even print out the entire handbook. Good stuff Rob! And you can only use a magnet attached to your self in ipsc.
@@PopsQuest you can have a magnet on your belt or mag pouch in Carry Optics or Production as long as it isn't forward of your hip bone and you don't use it during the COF. COF Begins at Make Ready and ends at Range is Clear, if you unload and show clear slap a mag on the magnet before range is clear command is given, welcome to Open.
WAIT! ONE! SECOND! Are you telling me that there is a rule book that specificly outlines what is legal and not legal in our sport? And that we're not to get the rules from RUclips? Mind blown!
@@PopsQuest you can use it Before the Make Ready Command is given. Problem is if you walk up to the start position and the RO says make Ready and you have a mag on a magnet, welcome to Open.
The measurement for holster and mag carriers is from the inside of the inner belt. Not the inside of the outer belt.
You are right, to the point of the video....

Hopefully they will allow magwells in the future with this division. Afterall, we can run lights now. Almost a perfect division.

Good info! A must if you're going to compete.
Yes it is!
Hey pops. What holster do you use for your Bul as I’ve just ordered one like yours.
The Ghost, "The One" works great on the bul and chaos just need a longer muzzle support for the bul
What grain on ammo do you recommend for carry optics out of a Canik?

So I could put a magnet on my forehead, Nice!

Guys argued about thigh straps for an hour at the last match 😂
LOL, It's really clear on that, not surprised about the argument LOL
Sounds like common sense to me. Your car has an owner’s manual. USPSA has a rule book online.
I had no idea that cars actually had a manual....
Will my staccato xl qualify😂
Nicely broken down for folks
Thanks brother
Thanks Pops my son is starting to shoot carry optic
If I can help in any way let me know!
Best wishes to him. Tell him to have fun!
@@PopsQuest Thank you much Appreciated
Nice info👍🍻

It's another option.......LOL
Why would you want a threaded barrel 🤔
Not sure how to answer that, I happen to have one so I use it
It’s longer. I’m curious about thread protectors. If they’re legal, what dimensions are allowed? Could it be made of tungsten?
Rules...rules and more rules!!!! Did I spell that correctly?? Hi Pops!
No you did not
@@PopsQuest Retired Roll #1. Don't give a shot about correct ness.!
Good video. I've even been asked a few times.
At a local match you will hear 10 different answers
How does the magnet rule not make sense? It's simple. You cant use a magnet durring the course of fire. End of story.
I understand the rule but it's silly to not be able to use one before the make ready
