I’m so proud of the hard work my husband Jeff has done to bettering himself. He looks amazing and is so much happier since losing the weight. Thank you downsized for letting him share his experience.
Hello all. Actually it’s XL to Medium! This is my RUclips debut. Thank you Chris and Laraine for your highly informative and helpful channel and content!
Enjoy these interviews. Thanks for creating this type of content. It really helps to see persons on a similar journey. Definitely help keep me motivated.
I’m very thankful for this interview. My son is a type 1 and everything in this video was an eye opener. I had a good feeling about GLP1s This keeps getting better and better
Enjoying Jeff's story, looks great for 53. I'd be very interested to hear from someone nearer my age - 79! Too English and 'reserved' to join you so hopefully there's a bolder American out there. I'm doing well and about to go up to 5mg. Lost nearly an English stone so far.
Thanks - we are always looking for more people to talk to. Everyone does want to see someone like them. I am sure you would be fabulous and there is no such thing as too English! Congrats on the weightloss. The invitation is always open for you to join us if you change your mind.
Thanks., Difficult to find a provider at over 75 as I think less research has been done. However, here we're eligible for free medication (doesn't include Mounjaro) and I've been advised by my GP to drop one of my 2 different bp pills and my PPI for acid reflux so already saving the NHS and hope to be off all pills soon. A small example of the greater effect to an economy.
Wonderful interview, Christopher, Laraine, and Jeff! Thank you for all your knowledge and experience, Jeff. We could talk for hours about epigenetics, Ultra-Processed Food Use Disorder, fat cell theories, etc. as reasons some people (me!) may never be able to go off the medications. I know that, for me, behavioral changes are not remotely able to shift my body into a place of homeostasis. Just as my brain is mis-wired bestowing Bipolar Disorder 1 inside me and that require lifetime meds, my GI biochemical dysfunction will always need to be medicated. I will gladly remain on some iteration of these GLP-1 medications to sustain the life I have today. From HbA1c 9.0 to 5.0, from 405 lbs. to 138 lbs. in 28 months. Every comorbidity, even severe like heart failure and MASLD, have healed/repaired. My CKD, something isn't supposed to reverse, has gone from Stage 3B to Stage 1 in the last year. I'm alive in a way I never knew existed. Blessedly, I have had only mild constipation, but take care of that with magnesium and fiber, but other than that, no GI issues whatsoever. I loved when you said how surreal this is sometimes. I am with you there! I never knew my body could be happy walking miles or doing weights at the gym. Who _is_ this woman?! Congratulations on your amazing life and thanks for all you do for us!
Jeff’s interview was definitely intriguing. But…Barb, you are THE GOAT! I continue to be impressed with all that you have been through and how far you’ve come. Love you! 😘
Barb, thank you for sharing and congratulations on your transformation amidst other conditions that spur weight gain. I feel your appreciation for these products as I have, and despite other diseases, me type 1 diabetes, GLP-1s have blessed us bringing us to new heights of health.
