My nephew went back to school Monday after his spring break ended. The school years are a little different in the US. I had to give him a covid test before he could go back. The students in the elementary school still wear masks for the most part, but it is supposed to be optional. I had not really thought about the pandemic too much until I had to test him. I have started thinking of the pandemic as being over for some time now. I only wear a mask when I go to see my doctor.
Oh my goodness! For the first time in about 25 years, I was able to see the cherry blossoms in Shinjuku Gyoen. Cherry blossoms make me feel glad to be born in Japan. There are wild deer in Lake Yamanaka! I will tell you secretly. Visit a place called Zempukuji River Green Park in Suginami Ward during the cherry blossom season.

新宿御苑の昔は天皇家のコースを９つ持つゴルフ場でした。
150年くらい前からある植物研究所もあります。
子供たちがのびのびと元気に楽しくしているシーンは本当に幸せそうでうれしくなり、なぜか涙が出てきてしまいました。
今、世界中で何の罪もない家族や子供たちがツラい思いをしているのだろうと感じてて
安心して寝る場所にも困っている人がたくさんいる現実があるから…
