  • The Power of the First Moments of Your Day
    All you have is from this day forward. It’s better than you expected. The past is done. The pain, the disappointments, the regrets-they hold no power unless you choose to give them power. What matters is today, right now, and what you do from this moment forward. This chapter is about mastering your mornings, controlling your thoughts, and setting yourself up for success-every single day. Because when you win the morning, you win the day. And when you stack enough of these winning days together, you transform your life.
    So let’s get to work. It’s better than expected.
    Why Your Morning Mindset Matters
    Think about this: When you wake up, what determines whether it’s going to be a good day or a bad day? Is it the emails waiting in your inbox? A kind word from a friend? A stressful situation left over from yesterday? Or do you take control and decide that today will be a great day-no matter what?
    Most men don’t realize they’re giving up control of their own emotions from the moment they open their eyes. They check their phones, let the news dictate their mood, and let random circumstances decide whether they feel good or bad. But not you. Not anymore. From this day forward, you are in control. Your mind is your greatest asset, and we’re going to make sure you use it to your advantage.
    The Simple Strategy to Control Your Mindset
    This is not theory. This is a strategy I use every single day, and it works. It’s simple, but its impact is massive. Here’s what you need to do:
    Step 1: Protect Your First Moments
    The moment you wake up, do not-under any circumstances-check your phone, emails, or social media. Don’t leave your mindset to chance. Those first moments of the day are sacred, and you need to protect them like a warrior guarding his fortress.
    Step 2: Ask Yourself These Four Powerful Questions
    Before you do anything else, take a deep breath and ask yourself these four questions:
    1. What am I grateful for?
    2. What makes me happy right now?
    3. What do I love more about myself today than yesterday?
    4. What are three things I will do today to move closer to my biggest goal?
    Write them down. Don’t just think about them. Get a dry-erase board or a notebook and physically write them down. This activates your mind, forces clarity, and sets your focus for the day.
    Step 3: Take Decisive Action
    The last question-"What are three things I will do today?"-is critical. It shifts you from thinking to action. Choose three specific actions that align with your biggest goal and commit to doing them. Not tomorrow. Not later. Today.
    The Momentum Effect
    When you start your day this way, something amazing happens. You create momentum. And momentum is everything. One great morning leads to a great day. A great day turns into a great week. A great week becomes a great month. Before you know it, you’ve stacked up a life filled with achievement, fulfillment, and confidence.
    But if you leave it to chance-if you let outside circumstances dictate your mood-you’ll stay stuck in the same patterns that have held you back for years. And we are done with that.
    From this day forward, you are in control. It’s better than you expected.
