It also completes my collection of hard to gain vehicles stored in my protagonists hangars. I had the P996 Lazer Jet stored at the Sandy Shores Airfield which I stole from Fort Zancudo during the Strangers and Freaks mission "Fair Game", took advantage of the locked wanted level for that mission to take the jet. Then, I stored the Rhino at Michael's hangar after stealing it using Trevor since if I had placed it in the Sandy Shores Airfield, I stood to lose the P996 Lazer.

Nice one, sure I am going to try this one. Also an tip, don't let the small cop cars, get too close to the rear of the tank. They will ram you between the tracks, right under the engine compartment. If they ram 2x it is over for your tank.
On gta san andreas I used to do police missions with the tank, because I was indestructible and barely got to 3 star wanted level myself I was able to just keep going and going non stop until made a fortune in the whole game because of those missions, lol. I wish it was the same in this game! :D

i lost 5 stars by not doing anything just use tank to blow up all the helicopters and cars and eventually the stars will start flashing and there will be no more cops and you will lose your wanted level i thinl this is caused by cops giving up!! but it takes a long time !
same here cops dont pursue me much in a tank i could be having a 5 star rampage then drive a few streets away they stop following n the stars start flashing i know exactly what your talking about.
A faster method I found, before you head off the highway ensure nobody is within viewing distance of you, so along the way I just blew up everything I saw including the helicopter, then at 1:41 instead of heading towards the right, I take the off road on the centre which head down towards the river. If you've done it right, nobody sees you and you can just wait it out down there.
stealing a jet is not that hard, just make sure you have a full Body armor or better ; Invincibility. so just drive into Fort Zancudo and go to the same entrance as he showed on the tank stealing tutorial. Once youve passed the entrance, drive right and there'll be a left turn, go left andd you'll see a hangar with a Jet in it (sorry for my grammar)

Doesn't matter which route I take, if I shoot at the cops or not, or how easy I go on the tank, it just dies. I know it's not damaged because quite a few times I didn't even hit anything (not a car, rock, nothing!).
How the hell did you run over that many cars without blowing up? For me it usually takes 4-5 car explosions to get killed (with little to no previous damage to the tank)
well i tryed ... if u wanna know how it went...1 try got tank get stuck at exit...2 tank roll over me...3 shot at entrance cus i stole the cab...4 tryed to shoot my way in.....5went with a garbage truck got behind tank jump on it about to steal get snipe head shot....i need a new controler
My Treads keep getting destroyed or something I only get so far before the tank is no longer mobile I mean I can still shoot stuff but I can never get away

Actually fire can easily damage the tank. If you shoot to close, or to many vehicle explode near you your tank will be damaged.

I tried so many times on the same time found dying but once and every time the title when away from being a blown up by another tank a blue himself up
to steal tank just shot guard from the military entrance and wait till tank comes out of base .. way easier to take

if an explosion hits you in the engine 3 4 2 or one it could kill yo instantly and stay away from flames in some seconds itl burn your tank and blow
