    Hi there - good question! You unfortunately do have to play the music across the slides so have to listen to it all each time. What makes it more challenging is that sometimes when you export to a video, the music is slightly off from where it was when you previewed it in PPT. So you have to export to video each time to really test it. One thing I also like to do is sync the audio/video in a video editing program so you can shorten/lengthen parts of the video to match the music.

    Sure, see my response to your other comment. This is a very ambitious animation to do! I would either make the box open from the top (as in the hinge effect video) or just make it fade from closed position to open position (less cool but MUCH less of a headache as well). Otherwise, you will have to do a separate hinge effect for each side. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Lea, thanks so much for the CTRL + arrow key tip! I mis-keyed in attempting it the first time, only to discover that clicking Shift + arrow key allows me to accurately rotate the selected object. Could I also trouble you to tell me how I might adjust the vertical distance of the scale cup movement? The left one is moving too high; the right one, too low. I mean, is accurately measuring the vertical distance of travel only a guessing game at best? Or can you show us another simple, yet mind-blowing procedure from your little bag of tricks? You are wonderful!

    You're right you can do that too, but I prefer this way because it makes the slides a bit cleaner when you're doing a lot of layers.

    Hi again, Iv’e been watching some other of your excellent videos, and I can’t figure out how to make an unfolding box effect, that is, one square from which 4 squares open, one above, another below, and one on each side. Could you help with that? Thank you!!

      You can get music from freestockmusic dot com or the Microsoft office website. You can insert it by going to the "insert" tab and then "audio."

    I have a quick PPT question for you. I'm currently creating a Kinetic Typography PPT to go along with a song. Is there a way for me to preview a slide from a certain point so that I don't have to listen to the whole first part of the song every time I want to change the timing of an animation? I can't seem to find the answer online. Thank you so much! You're amazing BTW!

    Lea, I'm surely not the only one experiencing these same problems. Hate to abandon this project. Noticed that Sean Polreis was also baffled as to how to get pwpt to accept the change in rotation on the crossbar...probably hitting the ok button as I was instead of hitting enter. Maybe some pointers on positioning these objects?

    • @powerpointspice
      @powerpointspice  8 лет назад

      +Carson Dan Zooming in as much as possible (400%) usually helps in making small movements (if you do a nudge with CTRL + arrow keys at this point, it will be the smallest movement possible). Also, holding SHIFT while dragging the motion paths ensures that they stay straight. Sorry to hear it's causing you a lot of headache - sometimes, the snapping does get really tough to work with - but if you can manage to get it to work, it looks really cool in a presentation. If it's too frustrating, you might want to take a break from it and try a more straightforward effect like the "cool and super easy PPT animation effect."

    This is a great video! Thank you! Quick question. I'm working with 2010 and the Spin motion does not give me the option to change the angle of the "tipping". The only options are Quarter, half and ful spin. Do you have any suggestion how to do a workaround? Thank you again.

    • @powerpointspice
      @powerpointspice  10 лет назад

      Prodero Arnoff Claudia Are you using a Mac? I believe it has limited custom spin options. Thanks for watching!

      In order to set the angle percentage on PC, you need to click on the effect options from the Animation Pane (NOT from the Ribbon at the top of the page). From the Animation page, select "Animation Pane," select your object, then take a look in the dropdown icon next to your object name in the Animation Panel to see your Effect Options..

    I love the video.... I am running into a problem... I'm using 2013 PowerPoint.. When I try to change the degree of tilt on the scale to 10 it will not keep the custom setting.. it will go to 90 degree's or 180 or 360 !! Please help if you can.. Thank you.. You're videos are great... I've learned a lot from them.. Thank you again !!!

      Sometimes this happens if you don't hit "enter" right after entering the custom number. That actually happened to me a lot and then I figured it out -- try it and hopefully it works! Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Hi! When I try to add motion paths to the scales they keep jumping up or down but they land in the right place! It's so annoying! I'm using PowerPoint 2010 so I don't get a preview of where they go. I can't fix this problem so please help! How do you fix this problem?

    • @powerpointspice
      @powerpointspice  11 лет назад

      The only way to make the problem easier (not fix completely) is to zoom in as much as you can -- 400% if you can. This makes it jump much less.

    PowerPoint won't let me change the amount of bar spin to 10 degrees. It has the "custom" option but after I input a number in there it simply defers back to one of the standard options.(quarter, half, full, or 2 spins).

    • @powerpointspice
      @powerpointspice  9 лет назад

      Sean Polreis If you're on a PC, you just have to enter the number in the Custom field under "effect options" - then hit ENTER (if you don't hit enter it won't work for some reason). If you're on a Mac, it won't let you change it to a custom setting (as of now, at least), unfortunately! :/

    Is there anywhere other than MS Office images that I can obtain vector wmf clipart? MS Office directed me to BING to try but all their clipart is jpeg, png or gif with a few from sites that want you to subscribe to the site to get the wmf.

    • @powerpointspice
      @powerpointspice  9 лет назад

      matvarnado Ugh I know! I can't believe they removed that site - it had a lot of cheesy stuff on it, but lots of useful pics too! You can try openclipart.org, but what stinks is you have to use their editor (so you'd have to export individual pieces if you want to use several).
