@AtomskTheMynahBird yeah I agree. Don't want Scott to lose his whole audience. Last I checked it was the dems trying to force E.Vs on us. "For the environment"
In 2021 I bought a 2005 TJ, Sport, 2 door, soft top, 4L inline 6, auto trans, supercharger, with 130K miles. No rust, never wrecked. I paid $15. Runs great. Good Jeep.
Still daily driving a 2001TJ since new. Just came to praise the 32RH "TorqueFlite®" automatic transmission. Shifts perfectly and bulletproof 24 year later. Plan on driving it ...
I’m literally at the Jeep dealership looking at a New Grand Cherokee and the first thing I see when I get back in my Jeep is this video, thanks Scotty, I love my 2020 Grand Cherokee Summit!
I had that straight six on my 97 Jeep Cherokee. It sounded like a tank engine but damn was it a champ. So much torque and was indestructible. Gas mileage was terrible but back then I didn’t care lol
@@jamesgates92 they did a Willys designed one. When AMC bought jeep in 1970 they started using the 232 258 rambler six in them. An indestructible 6 cup engine. It was still being used into the 2000s.
Bought my friend’s wife’s 2004 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited in 2017 for $4,000. Had 32,000 miles on it with the 4.0 Liter engine and automatic. Now have 64,000 miles on it only problem I had is the heater blower motor failed and had to be replaced. The 4.0 debuted in 1964 and continued to be placed in Jeeps until 2006. A 42 year run for an engine isn’t too bad at all.
My 1999 wrangler with 90,000 miles and isn’t bad either. Not a serious off roader, but I did lower the differential ratios to allow for bigger tires. And I did posi-traction lockers on the dfferentials. My first vehicle back in the 1970’s was a 1967 Jeepster Commando with a Buick V6 motor. That was a pretty strong little motor for a Jeep. Out in Western Colorado so rust isn’t much of a problem.
I've had six Fiats. Four 500 1 Turbo. 2 Fiat 500x great little Italian cars no troubles with any of them. Bought them for my wife but I drove them all the time lots of fun.🎉
Yeah great car... 😂😂😂 my mom fiat still kicking 21 years later clocking around 180 000km... engine burns 2mm of oil every 13000km... but its rebranded suzuki with fiat engine and transmission and gm electric system... 😂😂😂
probably because chrysler has changed ownership so many times that some of us don't even know who the current owner of the company is.also the reference to the fiat cherokee.🤣
@Xerxesthecheetahofficial That is very funny. My favorite is the Hyena. Really looks like the Hyena is actually laughing. Hilarious stuff from the mind of Scotty.
Scooty my favorite scene from you “I HAD A MECHANIC FRIEND YEARS AGO” it was a dude all smoked out with a stack of budweisers 🤣🤣🤣 much love from cali tysm 🙏
One of these would be perfect right now if you live in Kentucky or Indiana. These keep going in 12"+ of snow. They do have a rough ride. If you have any fillings you won't have them after a 20 minute ride in an older Wrangler.
Back in the day a lot of guys got the straight 6 & would spray the frame & under body with bed liner & the guys with bigger tires put steering stabilizer & they'd last for decades
Had a 2005 Liberty with 2.4 4 cylinder and 6 speed manual. Slow as a sloth but ran great with 276,000 miles on it before I sold it, needed a clutch. Much better ride than a Wrangler and got 28mpg.
I have a 2006 Unlimited 2-door with 175,000 miles on it. Rust is starting to take over and the frame is cracked now, but I still have people asking me if I want to sell it.
I have a 97 Jeep grand Cherokee with the 5.2 L i.e. three 18 in.³ has 316+ thousand miles on it and still runs real good. I use Amsoil and the lady who owned up before me her husband took very very good care of the vehicle and I’ve had to spend some money of course but I’ll take that over these new jeeps 16 different ways to Sunday
gonna have to disagree there scotty, in 05~06 the last run of these 4.0L motors has issues chewing up with cam gears, and when they do , oil pump goes too. The theory is that the castings has loose tolerances where the hole for the OPDA went, so while some motors were fine, some of them caused the cam gears disappeared
You should do one on ild sterling motors cars, rhe company before rover. They were smazing little cars with a 24 valve v6 they went for a lot of miles and barely used any gas. Very fast little car!
I would have bailed halfway through the video but it just so happens that I am looking at someone's old toy to make a new toy for myself. Exactly the same jeep only the one I found has a clutch. I would rather have the standard transmission.
I drive a 2011 gmc 2500hd with the 6.0l, has just enough electronics in the engine to give you a slight headache, but not too much, is it good on fuel? It's a truck, so... no. But even living just above maine, the frame is in perfect shape, and the ride height makes it so the body is perfect, no rust on it really at all, even the chromed steel bumpers not a spec of rust (which is odd for a gm, but I'm not arguing). I will drive that truck until either I die, or it dies. Want nothing to do with the newer stuff.
lol, great jeep review. I wanted one of these but went with the 99 Cherokee. I just love the look better, even though it’s a unibody. But I love the 4.0 straight 6, with a great transmission and the badass NP231 T-case. Great review! Thank you Scotty
I bought an 01 4.0 (my 7th jeep) but 1st TJ and it was garbage. The HVAC system broke 3x in 2 years, the voltage regulator went out in the ECU, the tie rod snapped the next day, rear wheel bearing went out, fuel rail stopped working. It never ran right always had a stutter, and that was with 110k miles on it (nearly brand new) and that's not counting the rust starting. Oh and the clutch went out. And it was a mall crawler show jeep... I never understood why everyone loved these. It was nothing but problems
Scotty, I have an unrelated question. I have a 2018 Toyota Highlander Limited when checking for a parasitic drain on the battery and pulling fuses individually monitoring the milliamps one of the fuses or maybe multiple fuses caused all the safety features to give a warning malfunctioning for instance the Lane departure, you know and a all wheel drive system the collision awareness system. All those are flashing malfunctioning as well as now the dome light will not come on when you open. The door with the engine off works just fine with the engine on the key fob it doesn’t recognize the key fob outside of the car. You have to place it right on the knob even with a fresh battery, all this happened at the same time while checking for a parasitic drain taking the fuses out at a time out of the fuse box that’s on the driver side of the engine compartment. Any ideas what caused this?
That 05 straight 6 is the best jeep ever made. I had 6 and I loved my 5 speed standard 4.0 and the 4cylinder. Also the jeep Cherokee with same engine are getting harder to get especially the 2 door 5 speed 4x4 I had back in the day with the straight 6 they were great rigs. Also the Comanche and I believe it was called the j10 full size jeep truck all those jeep models were so good and now my friend just bought a 2024 rubicon gladiator for $110,000 and the transmission went at 26,000kms. It cost 26k to get it done and warranty covered it but he ended up trading it in for a 1500 ram instead. So yah they don’t make um like they use too
My 1989 Wrangler YJ has ~31K mile on it. Actual miles. Long story. Leaf springs and shocks means it rides like a Jeep. Mixed MPG is about 15. Highway about 18-20MPG depending on terrain. It was made in Canada. A real winter Jeep Wrangler. 2.4L engine. Used to push yuppies in their upscale 4X4s up the small hill in our previous neighborhood. Mostly operator error but usually a too large an SUV for the owner. BTW, t**** can bite me.
😅Maybe a good idea! The current prime minister has created a message up there! Maybe our incoming president could straighten things out for you all!😊 But keep listening to this auto mechanic king Scotty!
When I was in High School, a guy had an old Willy’s vehicle. He had huge balloon tires and meaty wheels under the chassis. All three young men were killed when they went under the overpass at a faster than light speed. Those cool looking meats (that made the vehicle look awesome) caused the most herenderious crash. It flipped end to end and rolled many times, before coming to a stop. I don’t know about seat belts, or if the vehicle even had them, California didn’t make it mandatory until 68 or so. But all three lives were lost in addition to the causing the two major Highways to be closed down for hours, as the investigation continued. I had to circle around for miles, between my house and Vocational School. They were on their way to Vocational School, as well. I’m not sure, I think they were all friends taking auto mechanics. I was almost late, because of the back up.
I've owned 3 Jeep Cherokee IL6 since 1996. All went over the 350K mark, including the one I recently gave to my son who's a Senior in HS and will be going to college in MN. Only common denominator problems were water pumps, cooling system, alternator, and the typical oil drips...and are drips a problem? No, it's a Jeep. The engine will outlive the human race.
I've never heard any jeep newer than the 60's described as "made right" ;) Though I would love a WW2 or Korean war jeep. It's not the purchase cost, I just don't need any more vehicles.
The old Cherokee XJ had leaf springs on the rear axle as well. But I can´t say anything bad about it. Sure comfort was something else, but mine last at least for 24 years, then I sold the car. Don´t know if they are still hoping around in africa.
Jeep wranglers suck.. and I own one and I love it. Mine is an 02 TJ. It has to be the absolute worst choice for a commuter car one can think of but it is great at being a fun third car. Not too many other cars you can take the roof off and go cruising off road on the weekend.
Big Question - Not related to this video, But was wondering about security mods for door windows and windshield. Thinking of a cargo van camper but was wondering if there are roll down window shutters for door windows and for the windshield? Thank you and sorry to bother you.
Scotty I have a 2013 ecoboost F-150 with 270,000 miles the heater and AC are not working and it has an oil leak (roughly a quart every 2k miles) and my friend is wanting to sell his 2007 tundra with the 5.7 v8 with 315,000 miles for $6500 should I buy the tundra or keep driving my truck
The biggest “problem” with the Renegade was/is the price, I checked years ago when they started stacking up at the dealerships and there was no way compared to what else is out there.
@The-Armed-Pacifist Not a problem getting all Scotty’s purchased vehicles in one photo. He’s got the Celica,Matrix, and the Lexus. All 3 are supposedly running like champs. No Rust, No oil consumption, and most importantly: NO TURBOCHARGERS !!!!!!!
Hey Scotty My 2001 Jeep Grand cherokee Limited 246k miles have the engine fan powered by the power steering pump.. I think is the only vehicle have that system . no electric Fan just hydraulic.. correct me if Im wrong thank you
I had a 92 Cherokee I love those straight six engines they’re a dream to rebuild and if you change the oil regularly you probably won’t need to rebuild it
NOTHING. Nothing at all. Scotty is a BIGLY Trump fan, and he likes to spread the Trumpian nonsense at every opportunity. Mebbe they BOTH take Oil Company bribes !!
Scotty says he is gonna buy one! At my last count that means he has 1723 cars. Just made that up but I bet it is close, now we know he has two, one his wifes Lexus, but his electric bikes don't count cause he gets em free. A couple of motorbikes? Kind of scary a 70+ year old zooming around waving his arms
@@MichaelMoore-rc7chooo another one! you don’t have anything better to do than copy and paste this comment to all comments that wonder what this has to do with Trump 😂😂😂
I can just imagine Scotty’s neighbors, who’s talking so loud, is that the police helicopter making an announcement, oh it’s just Scotty making a video again.

I will only buy Toyota because the one I had from 2007 all I needed to do was change the battery no mechanical problems only weather related.
I’m blessed with $95k every 12 weeks!!!
Now I can buy anything and also support God's work and the church. God bless Monica Singer❤️❤️
Who is Monica Singer......
Honey, I also use Monica’s services, what a coincidence!!
I started with seven thousand and now I am making over twenty-eight thousand per month.
I thought my family and I were the only ones enjoying the benefits of Monica Singer’s business.
My family status has changed in the year since we met Monica Singer.
gonna have to disagree there scotty, in 05~06 the last run of these 4.0L motors has issues chewing up with cam gears, and when they do , oil pump goes too.
Using Trump for clicks ?
And it's worked
@@rambug99 I bailed about halfway
Bro he died 27 times. Using trump is light work
I would have bailed halfway through the video but it just so happens that I am looking at someone's old toy to make a new toy for myself. Exactly the same jeep only the one I found has a clutch. I would rather have the standard transmission.
Everyone wants to know whats the latest stupid thing trump 🙄 said or did and how much is it going to cost them 🤔 🙄
I drive a 2011 gmc 2500hd with the 6.0l, has just enough electronics in the engine to give you a slight headache, but not too much, is it good on fuel? It's a truck, so... no. But even living just above maine, the frame is in perfect shape, and the ride height makes it so the body is perfect, no rust on it really at all, even the chromed steel bumpers not a spec of rust (which is odd for a gm, but I'm not arguing). I will drive that truck until either I die, or it dies. Want nothing to do with the newer stuff.
That model with a 4.o ltr straight 6 run great.
How many miles are on the Jeep, I didn't quite catch it.
204,xxxmiles 😊
@@bendmall4341 200 something 😄
204517 and 1 tenth. Give or take a yard or two.
You guys don't recognize sarcasm too well do you LOL
@@mplslawnguy3389 I think we do 😉
lol, great jeep review.
I laugh whenever Scotty starts slapping the dash and the seats 😂
Always loved the TJs, we have a TJ, XJ and JT.
my 2006 used to eat alternators due to a design flaw in the 2004-2006 model years...
Having to keep the front end pristine to avoid the death wobble is too much. Riding or driving one of those freaks me out. Eff that.
Can’t wait for Trumps glorious return in less than two weeks
0:37 very few cars don't have a spring suspension system. Maybe you could consider the original mini to not have a spring suspension system.
I had a 74 CJ 5 no power steering big ole mud tires leaf springs made for off road thats for sure
I have Jeep Liberty 2005 (150 k miles) with no code. The engine is burning oil, it was my fault as I didn't take a good care
Watching this from the 51st state!
Greenland?
Lol. I have relatives in proposed new CanadIan Prvince
How cold is it in Greenland?
Greenland or Canada?
I have an 03 Jeep and love it
Yes Scotty I have 05 jeep and straight six👌there good Jeep
I've never heard any jeep newer than the 60's described as "made right" ;) Though I would love a WW2 or Korean war jeep. It's not the purchase cost, I just don't need any more vehicles.
2000 4.0 manual trans mmm mmm mmm mmmmmm Im lovin it
Hey Scotty it snowing where's your hat thanks for The information 😊
The old Cherokee XJ had leaf springs on the rear axle as well. But I can´t say anything bad about it. Sure comfort was something else, but mine last at least for 24 years, then I sold the car. Don´t know if they are still hoping around in africa.
Hello, Mr. Kilmer what van if any, would you recommend to purchase? Thank you
I have a1991 jeep wrangler 4 banger 282000 still runs Great
Jeep wranglers suck.. and I own one and I love it. Mine is an 02 TJ. It has to be the absolute worst choice for a commuter car one can think of but it is great at being a fun third car. Not too many other cars you can take the roof off and go cruising off road on the weekend.
Thank you Scotty
You can flip any jeep. Saw one trying to stop too late at a stop sign.... Filpped over and people fell out like chicklets
My vk56de is the best motor ever made beside the straight 6 4.0
Big Question - Not related to this video, But was wondering about security mods for door windows and windshield. Thinking of a cargo van camper but was wondering if there are roll down window shutters for door windows and for the windshield? Thank you and sorry to bother you.
Scotty I have a 2013 ecoboost F-150 with 270,000 miles the heater and AC are not working and it has an oil leak (roughly a quart every 2k miles) and my friend is wanting to sell his 2007 tundra with the 5.7 v8 with 315,000 miles for $6500 should I buy the tundra or keep driving my truck
most new jeeps have open diffs and highway gears, good for going to Walmart of college, and not much else.
The biggest “problem” with the Renegade was/is the price, I checked years ago when they started stacking up at the dealerships and there was no way compared to what else is out there.
Hittin' that hooch a little early eh old man
"Because it had the death wobble"
But its great !!
Do you know how to start the original Jeeps?
Why don’t you publish a photo of ALL the vehicles you supposedly “bought”.
He bought
-toyota Celica
-toyota bz4x
-f150
-maverick
-2005 jeep
-matrix
-wife's lexus
-Old Chevy truck
-Tacoma
-1982 Ford F100
-and more to come...
That photo would be the size of a billboard!😂😊😅
Can't, sold 'em.
It's a figure of speech , come on yall can't b that slo? 🤔
I have an 81 cj7 and I can see why AMC went out of business 😂
I just happen to be in the market for one. Florida.
You are a piece of work, fella.
Hey Scotty My 2001 Jeep Grand cherokee Limited 246k miles have the engine fan powered by the power steering pump.. I think is the only vehicle have that system . no electric Fan just hydraulic.. correct me if Im wrong
thank you
The best Chrysler engine is the slant 6
Budy has a buick v6 factory in his
I don’t understand why “Sport” needs to be on any model Jeep. It’s a Jeep!!!!
I had one. It was awesome.
Scotty I thought there was no such as to much power and it depends on how you control it. Maybe full blast should be explained 2 your audience?
You don't want too much power in an off road vehicle. It's not a muscle car, it's for methodically crawling over obstacles. You're not drag racing.
Annoying carburetor?? Cheap ,easy to fix , tuneable for better gas mileage . Annoying??
It's actually pretty clean...
I had a 92 Cherokee I love those straight six engines they’re a dream to rebuild and if you change the oil regularly you probably won’t need to rebuild it
I'd rather rebuild an old CJ 5 or maybe a 7 and use it like was intended. I've got cars to use on roads. 😂🤣
Mine burn oil like crazy with 20k miles
Can you please make a video to encourage President Trump to end ethanol in gasoline. Corn is for eating not driving around town.
What has this Video Have to do with TRUMP?
The part about the guy buying a jeep and lost his cash. Beware of scamers!
NOTHING. Nothing at all. Scotty is a BIGLY Trump fan, and he likes to spread the Trumpian nonsense at every opportunity. Mebbe they BOTH take Oil Company bribes !!
95 wrangler to me it had that straight 6 in it!!
Well said, nice Jeep.
I"ve never taken acid but I have to think that watching this guy is a close approximation.
Prepair for 60,000$camery and 200k trucks
I have own a 1983 cj 7 with a 5.7 chevy engine for 27 years. Being an every day driver, you get use to the leaf springs.
2:38 Love my Renegade Trailhawk and still love Scotty! Best car in snow for the money!
Hi Scotty
Whats an old jeep got to do with trump scotty??..
