It took me a minute to understand the thickness, but when I did get it I really liked and understood how easy it was to see how thick the wood is. Thank you.

Interesting rig. Not quite confident or able to afford to do something like that just yet, but definitely cleared some questions.

The thing that always amazes me is why the tool does not chatter since the rod holding it is so long. Thanks another good video.

Hello Jim, Thanks for liking the video.
No chatter because that steel rod is the strongest part and the cutter is kept very sharp. To get chatter, the bar would have to deflect. The size and type of material used for the bar is strong enough to resist deflection under these circumstances. Hope that helps answer your question.

Nice video Jim. I've thought about purchasing this system but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Good thing I didn't awhile back when I was looking at it too, since I just upgraded to the new Powermatic 3520C lathe from my old Delta 46-460. : - )

If I need another, I will make it myself. It is quite a simple design and works great. Thanks for your comments Tim.

    Hi Jim,
Just ran across the video, nice job. Thanks for the mention of my system. If you want to go taller than 15-17 inches the bar you have will vibrate. I don't turn with vibration. Give me a call , I have some ideas to go bigger safely.

Lyle Jamieson Hello Lyle. You are welcome for the mention. The system works great as I have mentioned. Thanks for comments my friend. I hope you checked out some of my other videos that showed your rig in action. Take care,

Your very welcome Michael. I wished I would have said more like, the cutter should be in the middle and the rig to be leveled. Thanks for your comment.
