  • #ilovervlife #HaloviewRD7 #RVcameras Several months ago we installed the Haloview 7” Wireless Range Dominator System on our 5th wheel. We were so impressed with the quality of the system and the simplicity of installation that we planned to expand the system to include front and side RV cameras. Haloview contacted us and provided us with these cameras to evaluate. The video below shows the installation of both the Haloview Wireless RV Side Marker Light Cameras and the CA109 Wireless High Definition License Plate Camera.

    Good Morning Jerry & Joan. Another great informative video from iLoveRVLife. This seems to be a really valuable system for all size RV's and you did a great job in showing how to install the Haloview RD7 Wireless Range Dominator System with Front, Rear and Side RV Cameras. Thanks for the personal time you spend in helping show other RVers these DIY Videos and safe travels on your upcoming Mountian Trip.

      I must admit that I’m a bit perplexed at your statement. Greater than 95% of the products we evaluate on our channel we purchase. If it works well, we show it. If not, we don’t bother making a video and wasting our viewers time watching a negative video. We’ve used this system in our travels for some time before we showed the video, taking on trips and stressed first. We’ve also given updates later in the year with no payment or products given just to show our viewers a quality system and how we use a year later. The folks at Haloview were kind enough to provide a unit for evaluation. They have also provided other units and we gave them away to our viewers. Our goal is simple, share what works for RV life, don’t waste hard earned money on things that don’t work, and how to install and configure. But, opinions are important and I appreciate the opportunity to reply how and why we do our reviews.

Ours is and we are wondering if we can use that wiring. Looking forward to seeing your travels. We are not too far from you, Knoxville, TN. Safe Travels!

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  4 года назад +1

      Thanks y’all. Great to hear you’re enjoying the channel. The side cameras I used are wireless since the Gateway had no prewire. If you click the video I shared at the beginning, you’ll see what I had to do for the backup camera. That was fun! If your not using any camera system now, there are configured packages with camera(s) and monitor. If you need to adapt to an existing system, you need to research the Haloview site for the adapters.

    Thanks for an outstanding video. I'm looking for a system to act as a dash cam, too. 2-channel while driving the pickup, and 4-channel when hooked up. Which may mean having to purchase a fifth camera... Questions:
    1. Does this have 'dash cam' features such as speed, time stamp, park mode, or gps.
    2. I'm assuming this loop records every xx minutes?
    3. Does the record function record all cameras, or does it record just the one(s) being viewed on the monitor?
    4. Clarity to read license plates?

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  3 года назад

      Thanks a bunch. We added the front camera to act as the dash. Haloview make a mirror style monitor and dash cam, but only supports the dash and one additional camera. Here’s our review ruclips.net/video/1AHxL8wH5Bg/видео.html. It does loop, but recording is based on he size of the chip. I haven’t checked mine in a while, but holds several days depending on length of trip. It only records one camera. When driving through a congested area, I flip to front to record the crazy drivers. It will read a license plate depending on the angle of the camera. Hope this helps. Jerry...

    Take that wire probe and throw it into a lake! Piercing the insulation will allow moisture/salt to get at the copper wire - in time the copper will oxidize and become brittle then break ( you will find yourself stranded on some rural road because the guy that installed your trailer plug probed every wire he could find even the in tank fuel pump ). Probe at harness terminal only

Unfortunately, in my 23-footer (Rockwood), the side lights are only an inch or so above where the front storage doors that swing open so I can't install there as the door will hit the cameras so I'll have to mount a few inches above which requires drilling into my camper but has to be done!

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  2 года назад

      The camera lights are infrared. You won’t see them. One thing to check is the amount of power coming to the camera. I had to change my marker bulbs to LEDs to increase the voltage. If I lived in a state does’t allow dash devices or if I was running out of dash real estate, the RD10 is a good solution. The side cameras are a nice add. I use if we’re going through a large city. How do you power the front camera on and off or do you keep it powered all the time? Do you like the front camera in the grill or do you think it would be better on the dash? Thanks in advance. Keith

      Keith, I turn on the parking lights to power the front and side cameras. I treat it similar to a dash camera. I had a dash, but the window was getting crowed with GPS, etc. Nice to get the real estate back. This is a lot of system for just a front camera. Would not have gone this route if it didn’t integrate with the rear camera. Overall, it’s been a good solution.

      I Love RV Life, I was going to get a dash cam and then I figured I would use the Haloview since I have it for the rear camera. Then I saw your videos. I’m waiting 3 weeks for Haloview to send my camera. They blame everything on the virus and Customs. Thanks for the info and stay safe. Keith

      Hi Louie. This is one of the models. There several that you can start with and add to if you can't find a configuration you need. Here's a link to the product site. www.haloview.com/products/wireless-backup-camera-systems.html?acc=552

      It’s the rear view license plate camera. Used this since it included the mounting bracket. Here’s the link www.haloview.com/haloview-ca109-wireless-720p-high-definition-license-plate-rear-view-camera-for-mc7108-mc5111.html?acc=552

      Per the specs from the manual, the monitor and camera will operate between 10V-32V DC. www.haloview.com/byte-tango-7.html

      The harness is provided. I took to a car stereo installer to wire. Finding the leads were a challenge. The installer had the factory manuals to identify.

      Good question Robin. We call this our insurance camera. We are record as we drive. This is our protection in the event of those drivers that put us at risk and cause an accident.

    What is the reason for a front facing camera? Isn't that the same as what you see while driving or sitting in the drivers seat? LOL

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  3 года назад

      We call it our insurance camera in the video. Same as a dash cam and I have one less item to deal with. I don’t use for guidance, but recording those aggressive drivers who pull in front and hit the breaks in heavy traffic. At a weight of 24,000 lbs and 56 ft, these things don’t stop on a dime. I’ll have evidence that I wasn’t following to close just in case something bad happens.

    You get what you pay for I guess. Mine worked perfect with my Chevy Colorado. It refuses to connect to any camera with my Silverado. And yes, there is proper voltage. I've tried everything to no avail. I guess I should have just paid the money for the Furrion. I'm ready to throw this crap onto the burn pile.

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  Год назад

      Not clear on your set up. A Haloview camera must pair with their monitor. There’s no function to sync with a truck in-dash radio. Also, there are two types of Haloview systems - RD7 that works up to 33 feet and the longer range BT7. The camera and monitor must be the same type. The same goes with Furrion. The cameras only work with their monitors.
