I don't know if it is just me, but it seems like the analytics revolution in the nba (and basketball in general) is greatly responsible for a rapidly growing number of crazy efficient players at such a young age. Some youngins these days are waaaay smarter than what players their age used to be (look at guys like Doncic, Young, Simmons, Brogdon, Van Vleet, Ayton and so on)
I don't think it's simply analytics. It's the result of professional training from a much earlier age. Training in techniques, nutrition, strength and conditioning, film study, analytics, etc etc. Pure athleticism isn't really gonna cut it. There's too much money to be made to not to treat talented players as investments from a very early age.

But I always said that Young's greatest attribute was his passing. Even at Oklahoma he was making pro level passes. Future is bright for the kid. The reason this ROTY is Luka's is stated in the videos. "In the last 16 games!" Trae was horribly inconsistent all year and has only just now started to string together consistent outings. Luka has done it all year long. Luka also plays in a much stronger overall conference.

Luka: 21ppg, 7 boards, 5 ast, 43% fg. 35% 3pt, 72% ft Tree: 18ppg, 4 boards, 8 art, 41% fg, 33% 3pt, 82% ft Their stats aren't that far off. It's a lot closer than people think, especially since Tree young had that bad start. This 25 game stretch he's had is crazy though.

The reason this ROTY is Luka's is stated in the videos. "In the last 16 games!" Trae was horribly inconsistent all year and has only just now started to string together consistent outings. Luka has done it all year long. Luka also plays in a much stronger overall conference.
