The languages are similar and we have cultural similarities, that does not make it a Krahn -sapo music. Traditionally speaking for for example, a Krahn mask when speaking will speak in Sapo tone to show it language difference from it original Krahn tone. Inversely, a Sapo mask will speak in Krahn tone for cultural reasons to hide its original Sapo tone to show language difference from the original Sapo tone. So people have to understand the culture and traditions as regards Krahn and Sapo. That's what makes us two distinct ethnic indigenous population of Liberia. Keep track!
I am making a correction here for the viewers. There is nothing in Liberian history that refers to two tribes to carry one name such as you have here "krahn Sapo". Sapo is Sapo, Krahn is just Krahn. But we have commonalities, thus we share culture and some traditions. Thus, ethnic group are group of people who most often speak the same language and have comom culture. Now Sapo is recorded as the 17th tribe to be taught in all the Liberian schools and the 2008 census of Liberia shows Sapo as the 17th tribe with 43,337 or 1.3% of the Population.
