Skullcandy Sesh Evo True Wireless Earbuds Review - Great Earbuds With One Annoying Flaw
HTML-код

- Hey, we're taking a look at a pair of nice wireless earbuds that are ALMOST perfect. The Skullcandy Sesh Evo True wireless earbuds have great call quality, sound quality, and even build quality. Not to mention good battery life with a great charging case but I really wish they made it easier to use the touch controls. Right now, it's just painful to have to jam the earbud further into your ear in order to push the button on either earbud. 😟 Using just one earbud while leaving the other in the case is also an option and you'll need it cause they fit quite well in your ear blocking out most of the outside world. All in all, these are great earbuds for a great price of ~$60 as of this video.

The correct way of pressing the button is holding the sides of the earbuds with your thumb and middle finger using your pointer finger to press the button while wearing
Much appreciated my guy! Just caught these on sale from 60 to 29.99. By far best budget head phones. Loud great quality and a ridiculous battery life 🔋
Hello everyone, I'm here because I wanted to give you some recommendations about the skullcandy sesh evo since as almost all of us know, one of the biggest criticisms of these earbuds are those of durability and these tips have helped me a lot, let's start: 1.First with the charge, in order to charge the headphones well it is recommended that when they are put back in the case they remove the gels and put them in the remaining space this will make the pins and the receiver have a good contact and can help to those who have problems with closing the case. 2.Also related to the load, I recommend that you use both earbuds, and I do not mean to always use both, I mean that for example they not only get used to always using the right but to use the right for a while and another time the left one and so on, why? Since several people use only one and that it remains in the case for a long time without being used, it can be harmful to the battery and can shorten it or simply ruin it, that is why the sesh evo come outside the case, so as not to damage the battery. 3.Also another tip is to recharge the battery of the case only when it has one or two lights left (25% -50%) because there are many people who charge it for example every night and this can damage the battery, also remember that The output of the cube they occupy to charge the case should be 5 volts (I recommend that exact figure no more and no less) because more could damage the battery and never use fast charging cubes. 4. Finally obvious things like avoiding bumps, although they have IP55 to prevent them from getting wet, etc. 5. And in case you have any questions, ask at the skullcandy support as they respond very quickly and are very friendly.
Exactly i read online many people ended up ruining these because they would charge them with higher amp stuff than what is recommended, a USB charge on a laptop. Do not over charge these.
Perfect review, thanks man! Cheers🍻
Thank you! I hate touch controlls because every time the buds are coming loose and I push them back in, the touch controlls end my call or music. I would rather have a physical button, I'll never use anyways. I'm so glad you addressed the buttons immediately. Thanks!!!!
Good point! I can relate to what you've said here. Based on this review and your comment I'm gonna buy them.
Great review. I just got a pair as a surprise Father's Day gift in the Bleached Blue. Was a bit skeptical but like the overall sound and fit. I totally agree they could have used touch controls as my current sets (Earfun Free Pro, Fiil T1XS, JLab Epic Air Sport ANC) all do. They were good enough to send my Enacfire G10 to the recycle life lol! Thx again!!
Thanks for the awesome review brother! Super helpful. You’re awesome.
Great review. Good job, keep it up.
One thing you forgt to say is that the earbuds have a built in EQ setting.
Thanks for this video! It was very helpful.
Just bought these. Thanks for the review.
Great video - thank you for the detailed review!
Great review!!! These are actually my favs!!!
Great review I did find the button press slightly annoying but if u like hold the back with your index finger and press with hour thumb then it wont push into your ear which did cause me some discomfort the first few times I just pressed the buttons with my index finger
Thanks for the honest review. I had the Apple Airpods and loved them before they decided not to work. So this time I’m trying something different before returning back to Apple. The price is low enough to take a chance.
I just got these, but I haven't been using the buttons either because it's physically painful to press them.
Thanks bro just got some, lot of info👍
Great review 👍🏾
This man is a very underrated tech reviewer
I wanna know y I can only use the left pod but when I try to use my right pod is disconnects I like using one pod at a time and it only lets me use the left y is that
Thank you. Very good review
Why can’t every reviewer be like you?! That was a perfect review. Thanks bro!
Thanks for the video bro 👍🏽
If you pinch the top of the bud with your index finger then use your thumb to push button then it is a non issue. Especially for the price. And your right even if they were capacitive buttons still never use them. 25.99 on sale on this past black Friday and have no complaints. Great review.
Shoulda read the comments b4 commenting lol basically repeated how u said to press them 😂
Just got mine yesterday but the audio keeps lagging and when I’m watching videos the audio and visual misaligns and is hard to get working right
I use them for exercising, now, I fully charged the box, and started using them, I only used them like an hour three days in a row, and after each hour I put them back in the charge box, on the third day they died out within 15 minutes. Them dying out while I was working out was a big turn off
Just got the headphones for $40 from Best Buy. I don't use touch controls and I'm lucky enough to be able to grab the entire ear piece and press the button.
I agree perfect review!
Great review
Hi can all of the controls for these be done from my mobile ph instead of touching the earpods? Like answering calls, turning vol up n down? Tks
Hello when did i know that the sesh evo vull loading is?
How do I charge them properly, and do they lit red when opened even though they are fully recharged
does the case have wireless charging? maybe my pad is under powered or old but it won't for me.
Awesome, accurate review, man. I don’t get what everyone is saying about the button being hard to press. I don’t have that problem
Me either, it's fine
I just bought these so are they really not noise canceling...because that could be a big flaw for me
Thank you I liked and subscribed
I had the JBL Tune500BT over the ear headphones, and I tried these out. The sound is so much more balanced, actual details, tight bass, but not overbearing, imageing and soundstage are better too comparatively. To be fair, JBL is known to make over bassy sounding devices, but so is Skullcandy. They really sound great, have IP55 too, sweatproof, and everything. They're great, honestly I can't wait to listen to my favorite songs and hear the details.
Feeling lucky while wearing them and watching your review 😅
I just need some thing cheap so I can use it at the gym or when I skate. These seem to be perfect for that
Bro same have you bought them are they worth it
@@redhood9918 i ended up going with the sony buds that are like $60, but i still would get these based on price a lone
Should've waited the indy evos were cheaper on black friday
Word. I use the controls on the device too. It's hard to break decades of habit - "muscle memory."
Great review. earbuds sound excellent. Does anyone have a problem with connecting with Samsung Galaxy tablet. I have tried.Went to Google Play got the Scullcandy app tried to connect but the Sesh Evo was not on the list of devices. My Galaxy phone conected no problem.
I get 6-7 hours out of mine but they don’t always charge... I kept mine in over night and they died in like 15 min
Same, I'm trying to figure out how to fix it
I have the same issue. I suspect that Tile is to blame, since it stays connected to my iPhone in order to locate each earbud.

Have you tried pushing them while in your ear that shit hurts
These are great if you have a smart watch I use mine with my fitbit and I dont have to deal with the buttons on the side
Sounds good but the batteries run down in the case and the volume doesn't get loud
Bought my first pair the left earbud was faulty sounded blown, got a second pair they worked great for a week then the case stopped charging, either I was really unlucky or the quality is poor.
I went though 3 pairs before I gave up the charging case gives up and ill pull the pods out and they will be damn close to dead. The pods themselves is pretty good
The amps of your charging adapter maters with the case if your adapter has an output of 1.5a or higher it'll burn out the case anywhere from 1.1a-1.3a is ideal
You have a very calming voice, I just got these for Christmas they were 25 on Black Friday and I love them they are perfect and last forever
Also add on comment I can wear them while wearing a mask
I'm excited for them. I just got them and the extra battery life is what I needed. I really wanted the red ones but needed something more discreet since I wear only 1 while working so I got the grey. They sound great so far.
@@violetann1895 do they still work fine?
@@ainsleyhelliot yes
Can you use the left earbud for calls?
for some reason my left earbud battery life go out fast around 10 to 30 minutes and I don't know the problem can you or any help
They're bad quality...that's what...mine quit working or charging after on day....check other reviewed online... absolutely trash
@@Sammy31Dee Mine work after months of use even now. It might just be where you bought them
The way i wear them is turned upward with the button facing upward so you basically pinch the earbud with you pointing finger and thumb and no pressure gets put on your ear when pressing button. The only thing i didnt like was that they turn on when you pull them out of the charger. So when the charger is done charging them. It disconnects and the buds turn on for a short time. Love the rapid charging feature you forgot to mention. 20% in 10 mins!!! Oh and if you the buds in the case and plug in the case it only charges the case. It wont charge both at the same time.
just got them, first impression: they're wonderful
Impressions after almost a week of usage:
They suck, the right earbud straight up died after 4 days of usage. The battery of the right one will drain after like 10 minutes of usage, while the left one works without a single problem.
Check before buying, because Skullcandy won't actually certify your warranty.
Oct 2022 - Apparently the Sesh Evo model is 3 years old now. I'm really shocked at the value here... I just bought the light green ones (love the color) on sale for $30 at a major retailer when my corded headphones broke. Sound is fantastic, with three EQ modes controllable with the button (and yes, it makes a difference in music, movie, etc.). Fit is fantastic and they don't fall out. Battery life seems fine to me - I use for 2 hours at a time during workouts near full volume. Recharge is fine with the provided USB cable, so I can always charge while I'm driving to the gym. I love the button controls. Bonus - water resistant... also don't need to use an app to get them to work. These headphones are the absolute sweet spot. Sounds better than my old $120 Samsungs and battery actually lasts longer.
I suppose the real test is how long will they last when using about 8-12 hours per week?
Don't need any pass-through audio tech because if I did then I'm just way too distracted and I should maybe focus on real life people more than music.
Good review. Glad I stumbled on these for sale last week.
Hey hey. Any update 8 months later lol?
Do they have volume control?
Thank you
Mine's only work on one side. At a time..How do i set both to work at same time left an right....please help sesh evo....
I had the same issue, you can find the solution on their website :
1. Remove the SESH® EVO from the charging case and Manually Power OFF:
Touch and hold BOTH buds for 6 seconds
2. Once both buds have been powered OFF:
Touch and hold each bud for 10 seconds to completely reset them (this will power cycle them on and off again).
3. Once both buds have gone through the power cycle:
Place the buds back in the case until both LED’s show red, and then pull them back out.
Both buds will automatically power ON and the LED’s will simultaneously flash BLUE while they sync to each other.
4. Once the buds have synced together:
You will hear a tone to indicate the sync was successful and ONLY the LEFT bud will begin to flash RED/BLUE.
To the ones who are complaining about pressing the button....I've found that if you just place your index finger on the top of them(the extra space) and then use your thumb on the button, it doesn't hurt nor affect anything else really.
For some reason with my sesh evo earphones, they are not charging. Does anybody know what to do when that happens? or should I just invest in other ones?
If they're not charging by simply dropping the earbuds into the case, check and make sure the case is charged up by pushing the button on the front and see how many lights turn on. If it the case is charged but the earbuds are not charging they need to be replaced. Hopefully, if they are new you can return them or if not they have a 1-yr limited warranty you can try using that to get another pair from Skullcandy if you wish.
Interesting distinction made between waterproof and water resistant.
If you put your index finger behind and use your thumb for clicking the button, that works good. I like the sound... there is some latency watching video and movues...
$39.99 on Anazon right now. Some stores price match... I got mine at Staples.
I really like that I can switch buds for calls when driving. Just take one out and put in case. Take the other out of the xase and in ear... auto connects. Easy enough.
They charge really fast , when I’m my apartment gym there’s this guy who blasts this huge speaker with ferocious base and I pop these babies in I can only hear what I’m listening too I love these things my boyfriend had them in black but he kept losing them I do use the touch controls but it’s too many features for me to keep up with
had these for about 2 weeks and they're great, use them all day and they keep a charge about 5-7 hours worth. i say its worth the 30$ deal i got - but i have to agree that pushing the button while in your ear is uncomfortable.
Can you listen to both earbuds at the same time?
@@wavydave463 yes, you can use both at the same time. Or you can just use one.
@@trizxoslatt1712 ok, thanks
You may have figured this out between when you posted this and when I'm replying, but if you slip the tip of your index finger between the bud and your ear when you press the button, your index finger will hold the bud in place and it won't hurt your ear.
How do you get them to charge in case?
Soundstage isn't wide. More like a medium size room. Not as bright or 3D sounding. But great for youtube
Bought some a year a go and for some reason the right bud stopped working after a month for no reason it, I shouldn't say stop more like it wouldn't hold a charge to save it's life for some unknown reason
is this compatible with an iPhone XR? Trying to find some wireless earbuds cheaper then Airpods
Yup! They are.
I actually like the push button thing , because the touch ones with minimal touch , they go crazy, i am actually ordering right now on line..do not buy Samsung earbuds plus...those sucks.
Can I use them like if I'm using one earbud and the battery dies on it i can switch to the other one.
No. Both earbuds use the same battery. If one dies, they both die. 😐
Yes
I have a problem with the right bud, I put both of them to charge and the right bud only gives me 11 minutes of usage before telling me "Battery Low" when I know I fully charged them. Is anyone else having that problem??
i am having this problem too. what i have researched online is to let them buds die and then put them back in the charging case.
@@doraluna6376 Yea, I've been seeing videos and read that was a thing to try. I've yet to try it cause I've been thinking of getting different ones. Did it work for you or have u tried it?
@@idkbro8470 currently just letting them die rn 💀 ill let u know if it works
@@idkbro8470 honestly I'd rather just use my old airpods. The only reason I bought skullcandys was because I wanted new earphones and my airpods microphone don't work anymore 🥲
@@doraluna6376 Same here, I wanted new earbuds but my dumbass didn't know skullcandy had more models of the bluetooth earbuds. I just saw these and they were the cheapest rather than researching others. These are my second bluetooth earbuds and I gotta say, this was a rough experience. I'm gonna do the same and let them drain to see if that helps. I'll let u know if it worked as well to see if there's anything different.
I've had my Sesh Evos for 3 weeks now and I'm not getting the consistent battery life I'm seeing reviews quote. After 4 to 8 hours of charging I'm only able to use for about 1 hour before I hear "battery low" and the bud will go to 10%. I'll put the other bud in and even though it's been in the case, it'll say "battery low" as well and will be on 10%. I'm not having the great experience others may be having. I was excited for these buds because we use Skullcandy headphones at work and they are great. My JLABS from Walmart cost less and when they are charged, I get the listening time as described.
Mine don’t charge with any charger than the one it came with and the problem with that is I lost it
@@haileycable8847 I keep mine in my purse. I'm. Never without it lol
That is exactly what is happening to me, only my right earphone works. My left earphone is giving me a 10% reading even when I fully charged it.
I have these and right now I’m trying to figure out why my left one is dying faster then the right
They can be used independently so, that should not be a problem
I dont get it, they said if I charge it for ten minutes I get 2 hrs of playtime but I only get 20 mins
Wondering if I should get some they have them on amazon for 29.99$?
I just got them for 30. To me its worth it. By a long shot. I feel like they are great for only 30.
Had em for about over a month now. I love them.
Got for around $30 at Target and at that price point they are great. Haven't tried using them at the gym yet so not sure how they will stay in place.
Bought these almost a year ago and I do not regret it. Definitely worth the price in my book, sound quality is nice and the ear buds are a decent fit and quite comfortable. Only issue I have is, I have to use the left ear to pause. But I actually prefer the button, touch pad is quite difficult to use with gloves.
I bought some since I heard they were nice, the right earbud doesn’t even last 10 minutes EVEN AFTER a full charge, my phone will display it as full but then it rapidly drops down in battery life.
Defective send it back
I can charge these overnight and when I wake up 8 hours later and take them out of the case, the lights are still red... Can anyone tell me why they don't turn off? Or turn green?
Red only indicates they're charging in the case. They don't indicate the actual battery life. Your phone will tell you that when connect them.
@@Eshcole Ok but I read that it takes 2 hrs for the buds to fully charge, why are they still red after 8 hrs of charging?
Case does not charge...
Got about 4h of use before the right bud went out and won't hold a charge and started sounding blown so I'll just say that they sounded good while they lasted
How come I only got 20 mins of playtime? I charge them for 10 minutea[they said in the ad]

Does the red turn green when charging is complete?
Turns red when it charges no green at all but does take like 10 or 15 minutes for full charge

Can you use these with google assistant?
Yes, you can use Google assistant with these. However, on my phone (one plus 7 pro) in particular its not great with google assistant over bluetooth. I give one command and then I have to wait to give another so your mileage my vary.

I have a galaxy note 20 ultra and these buds won't connect unless I have some sort of app....you left out that part
cause there's no app required. If there is it is specific to that phone and don't know what that's about. Put the earbuds into pairing mode and connect. It was as simple as that.
@@Eshcole My phone kept telling me an app is required..but I reset everything , had to reset everything twice and they finally paired..my apologies to you..

Same I cannot connect because of the app that doesn't exist.
Great review. Truly. Do have one question, however. I know some SkullCandy buds offer "Solo" use. This allows you to use ONLY one bud. A few of the SkullCandy series even automatically switch the audio, from stereo to mono, upon engaging "Solo" mode. However, in few series the Left bud, is the primary bud. Meaning only the Left will do mono. None of that is really important to me. What is important to me however? Being able to control functionality and field calls using ONLY the right bud. In other words, can I use just the right bud and does it have mics built into both(buds)? Can I answer/talk on the phone using only the right bud?
Sorry, that's an awful lot of nothing for a very basic question🤣
Again, great review.
Thank you.
Happy Holidays🎄

Sorry for the late reply, just tested this and yes you can control only one earbud no matter whether it's left or right.

Ordered the hear because they are on sale for 30 bucks. But I am turning away from name brands. I wanted a single earbud, got a no name on Amazon. They last 12 hours on a charge, these last 5. Why would a no name be so much better than a famous brand?
I had to get replacements less than a month later
Don't expect the sound quality of Apple Airpods Pro out of these Scullcandy. Compared to Airpods pro the sound is mushy with with high MIDS and somewhat OK BASE in movie mode. The headphones are uncomfortable and do not hold inside the ear canal. The charging case is Big for the pocket. I absolutely agree that controls are horrible.
