Beta Carotene has absolutely no business being this deep and hidden within MM’s discography…
And needlepoint.. more so the feel of the actual music.. such a sweet sad sound
i really wish they'd release an archival collection, there's so many gems across all their different demos & bootlegs
Just wanna give appreciation to all the mm fans out there. Thanks for all you share. Such an understatement. This band was so formative for me for better or worse. I’m always grateful to see the fellow traveler who internalized “I’ve changed my mind so much I can’t even trust it, my mind changed me so much I can’t even trust myself”
I'm with you!
Likewise friend
Clockin in to say I’m here with ya! Take care of yourselves fellow MM fans I know what you guys go through
Love Modest Mouse, one of the only bands that had songs i could actually relate to, and gives you stories and more. its not just trying to make hits, its just trying to be themselves no matter how weird they come off. So they will always be special to me
Doesn't really matter. But is this considered classic indy rock now? I was 16 listening in to MM in 1996. They are calling Built To Spill Classic Indy Rock. So is MM now?
Who else is sloshed and crying
Getting there! 🌚
Nursing a hangover lol but almost the same
Beta Carotene is a masterpiece
I like so much how raw this quality is.
you guys have got me through every hard time in my existence. never stop it. I love your music it speaks too me even if I'm sad and depressed. More so, it helps me if I'm sad or depressed.
I'm right there with ya mang. Might I suggest adding ween to your list of good feels music. Its helped me just like issac has. I love papa gene and dean them some good boys.
@@taylorrobison2895 whats their best albums?
@@taylorrobison2895 hail Boognish!
check out lucinda wiliams
@@luz4030 Start with The Mollusk or Quebec, then Chocolate and Cheese after those. I also recommend finding the Live in Chicago video here on RUclips, which is what got me into them. Absolutely incredible band. Their country album is great fun too, and actually goes hard despite being parody!
This so epic. It's like Long Drive 2. The tracks and order are Well done. Thank you! I wish I could have a physical copy.
These tracks highlight how incredible Isaac, Jeremiah, and Eric were as a 3 piece (4 piece with Dann Gallucci)
Closing it out with Nothing New into an early outro that preceded Stars are Projectors.... WELL Got DAMN
No problem, glad you're enjoying it. Keep up the guitar lessons, they're great.
Yeah dude, those last 2 were beyond epic!
love your vids and lessons sid
This is a gem for MM fans, god damn ❤️

Thank you man!
I needed this today. Isaac hits THAT spot
3 years man, this is so sad
It took me 20 pal, three ain’t so bad.
Bill Hicks, Mitch Hedburg, Tool, Modest Mouse=most important for all moods and problems
@Stephen Radley porque no los dos
didn't know there were too many more tool anΩd mm fans here!
Swap Bill Hicks for Gary MacElroy and you've got yourself a deal
This album scratches an everlasting itch that Posion The Well and Still Here couldn't.
beta carotene, calculus man, and you'll see are simply amazing, man...
heaven's a collection agency
imagine having these in spotify... damb.. itd be fckin cool
i got myself the means, i got some that I call the beta kerotene
still rocking to these
No band inspires weirder thoughts in my mind then modest mouse. And those thoughts have nothing to do with the music, it just some totally awesome reaction in my head to this band. 'You'll See' has become one of my new favorites. It changes, but only with bands with I truly love.
Holy shit first time hearing most of these ! And I thought I heard everything they have wow thanks and anyone else that is here are my people!!!!!!
Omfg I was just reborn. This is absolutely perfect.
I'm 27 and Modest Mouse has been my favorite band since I first heard them in a skate video at the age of 13...
Haha hey shoutout from another 27 y/o MM megafan.
I'm two months away from 28 and I discovered them in MLB 2K8 oddly enough. I've always had a taste for weird music so I was attracted to the zany vocals in Dashboard and I decided to dig deeper and listened to WWD then so on and so forth. I like all of their stuff, even the more popular mainstream stuff because even for radio friendly music it's still weird.
@@goovinguy8596 Yeah exactly it's cool as fuck though haha. I love how creatively outside of the mainstream box their music falls
@@audio_dregs Thanks man haha
I’m 28, soon to be 29, and I also discovered Modest Mouse around that age. I think I was 10 or 11 when I first heard them. I still remember the first time hearing them. My then best friend’s dad played Black Cadillacs for us one day when he was grilling. He said he used to listen to them in college in the late 90’s/early 2000’s. Still one of my favorite bands to this day. Isaac’s lyrical abilities are hard to match. In my opinion he’s one of the greatest song writers of our time. He can say such profound things in such simple ways. That’s an incredibly hard skill to master.
I hate to be “this guy”, but I still think their older shit is better than anything they’ve done in the last ~10 years. They became a little too pop-like for my tastes. Anything after Good News for People Who Love Bad News just sounds too polished to me. I love the lower fidelity sounding stuff. It just sounds so raw and has such depth of feeling. Dirty Fingernails is probably one of my favorite MM songs. That’s the kinda sound I like. Just angsty and real.
Little bit of history. Want clearer versions of these songs? Search by their real name (3 of them not findable, 2 are live continuations)
[rip jg peace love forever]

This is beautiful! Radiates right through the soul. Thank you for sharing.
You did such a good job putting this album together. It works really well. I listen to this all the time.
thanks for this i love the unreleased tracks so much
Wtf . This is an amazing find!!! Huge fan
Appreciate the time you took to make this, good job!
It felt nice to see this listing. I've had most of the songs on my iTunes and it is listed too. Nice to see an example and the result of putting the unreleased songs together, sorted out. :) Thank you.
This is really good. its giving me some serious feels listening to it
There was a lot of thought and love put into this compilation, this feels like a genuinely official Modest Mouse release.
just loved what you did
So raw and un-polish. This must be some of there earlier stuff. I love there earlier songs. Thanks for sharing these songs I never heard before ; o )
there's a lot more unreleased tracks than you could imagine including some that they only played at live shows.
I love you flyrocket.
Thanks so much for putting all this together. Glad to see you around in the past year
Thanks for posting! Great stuff
Epic!!!! Thanks for the upload.
Holy shit that guitar at the beginning had me hooked. Please go back to this sound, if possible.
Reminds me of why I fell in love with MM 20 years ago...
Wow what a difference!!! ☺ long time fan and this is just freakin awesome. Been up for 2 days on vyavanse and i cant believe i just found this at 7 am on an amphetamine binge. so happy😁😁😁😁 modest mouse always saves the day
Dude I miss those days 70mg vyvance and some modest mouse fuck yeah
Mick Stowers i like your profile pic. What an amazing album by an amazing band
That's where I'm at right now, just a different substance. I don't know what Isaac was thinking by having two drummers all the way back in 05 or 06. All he needed was jeremiah green the drum machine and melt their shit the way it was. You couldn't pay me to see these guys bc their setlist blows. Only thing I could get thru is king rat and the way they blend dopamine and into that other banging track life like weeds. Watch, I bet their new shit is regenerated pop trash. It's just money now. They were much better when Isaac was just a little drunk and play shows like some of these tracks. Especially beta carotene, is
listened to the early stuff
The album art is very nice. Definitely fits with what I'm hearing.
It's like listening to Modest for the first time, again.
ALWAYS LOVED THE MOUSE. TRUE ARTISANS, I was blessed to see them years ago in Seattle at the Showbox. LOVE THE WORDS, too.....
thank you
This is crazy I never heard before til today the first song is blessed and it hits me inside in many ways
Plays like a Modest Mouse album. That's high praise
Epic compilation brother. Trying to find you on reddit. 🙌
God this is amazing
If this was released on vinyl, I'd rush out and buy it. Awesome job. Great cover too.
I got myself the means
Yess! Epic. Love this.
first time hearing this album...what! new favorite.
Woah. Woah. Woah
Unreleased modest mouse??
IT TOOK ME THIS LONG???? Better late than never. Im so glad to be here. Have a great day all of you
Isaac helps me cry
i made a fan art cover looked almost just like this lmao awesome. same colors same style except mine was a lone iceberg. i used script style font as well
im soooooo happyyyyyy
I've never heard this album before and I been jammin the mouse for many years.
and I gotta say, this album made my nips pointy
This comment made my nips pointy
Great songs, magical.
This feels
like Christmas
Makes my soul happy
Thank you
Man, why can’t we get a physical copy of this? Even if that means a limited release.
I love this. I forgot to say It before!
did not appreciate these guys enough when I was younger
Hope exists in some form to all of us who are on this side of the grave. Take heart & persevere through the pain of today in order to build the character necessary for us to succeed in the coming tomorrows...
This would be a really good album to have as a cd.
Man you clean up this production, this could be a fav for me
beta carotene is amazing... only modest mouse could write such a killer song about a vitamin
its prolly about meth
I make music stuffs too and never appreciated a band being so fluid in changing the chain of command u know
Its really amazing
Perfect intro
If you've never seen Modest Mouse live, I implore you to see them. It is a spiritual experience.
Thank you thanks thanks a lot ;(
I've heard all these tracks from something, I have em on a USB but don't remember what they're off of
magic
Back again.
Please put this on vinyl!
whoa
sick
Only true Modest mouse fans know about these ones!
how have i never seen this until today! OMG
Shut up
@@mikevokes2216 shut up mook no one asked for your dumbass comment
A d the thing is there's so much more.
Just...stfu
Where's wrong decision?
hell ya
These arent all unreleased tho. But good work anyways! Modest mouse best stuff in my opinion
Cuz they timen an location everything 🤘🏻
how did you find these ? this is lovely
It's good stuff, of course, but surely would benefit from a few hours in the lab cleaning it up to the high production values of the studio albums. These dudes are geniuses. I wish they'd get back to work.
these are all on "rarities and unreleased", with about a dozen other songs.
When was this album recorded? Sounds kind of like their older music
Manic depressive named laughing boy interestingly enough was on the long drive, technically. Most sound like that era, glad we found it.
Calculus Man is from Moon & Antarctic era as it's an early version of Stars Are Projectors. Beta Carotene was a live only jam played a few times during Long Drive period. The others sound like they're mostly from Long Drive, LCW, and Building era
Wouldn’t it be fuckin’ dope if 2020 tour they just busted out ‘Nothing New’ or ‘You’ll see’? I’d shit my pantaloons.
Is it just me , do you think calculus man is a relation of cowboy dan
nope but it's stars are projectors
I never fully appreciated how great a drummer Jeremiah Green was,I usually focused on Isaac and Eric,Isaac cuz he's Isaac fucking Brock and Eric because I play the bass.and he was so young too only 45,but he was part of the greatest bands that ever was in my humble opinion.
Iam getting really good at music
Yo how I get this tho?
where did these tracks come from?
I'm so extrating papparazzi medias
30:24 is ME!
I’m gone for everyone
And for what anyone deserves
So which album of MM is the best?
good news,
if ure new go backwards, if you are a fan go forwards. Its like starwars
@@SoSo-li6dn I agree it’s Good News for me too, with Long Drive & LCW tied for 2nd for different reasons. I got to see them play last night and they played 5 songs off of Good News which I was so happy with. The show the night before they played none and I was all set to be bummed if that happened again!
The Moon & Antarctica is pretty great as well .. but they are all great

I live without borders.
You live with your boredom.
I travel with little.
You complain about having nothing to your name.
You sustain things that I dream.
Can you live without borders?
Pinned lines in and out of other peoples lines.
In and out of other peoples lives,
I experience all sides.
Can't say that it's easy to choose.
What are my choices?
Options?
I can't say that I'd choose one.
Perpetual.
Can't draw straight lines, so I write.
I write without borders.
And you complain of what you can't get because your stuck, but you just make your own borders.
Anyways!
It doesn't matter anyway.
Anyways!
Thank you.
