Steelers didn't choke. They weren't even supposed to be there this year. Without T.J. Watt, only God and anime could help them win this playoff game. Just getting to the playoffs should be a win for this season and all you can do is hope you keep your defense, buff up your o-line, and sign a better quarterback. Maybe even trade for someone like Justin Fields and save him from the QB purgatory that is the Chicago Bears. Fields is better than any quarterback the Steelers have had since Prime Ben Roethlisberger. Even better Old Man Roethlisberger that also made the playoffs in 2021.

That was pretty much what’s expected. They surprised me by hanging on and actually coming back from 21-0 to 24-17. The Bills shut down the inside running game really well, forcing Mason Rudolph to beat them with his arm, which he didn’t but made some plays that’s worth noting. Though, a new coach and a new QB is warranted. This playoff shows fully the difference between a demigod QB and a good one. A good one cannot carry a team and Kenny’s absolute ceiling is a good one.

Bills were more on fire with their winning streak. Our oline was sloppy with the blocking, defense got sloppy with tackling. I'll look at it like this last year we went 9-8 with a new qb who isnt there yet NFL wise to this year going 10-7. That is an improvement right there. They clawed and didnt give up. I see cam not coming back if Tomlin does walk away. Sadly I can see the steelers falling also if Tomlin walks away. I wouldn't call it a choke, as they had to win their last 3, and get help just to get here, AND they were never expected to win the game, anyway. A choke is when you do like Dallas, and win all your home games, then, lay an egg at home against the #7 seed (who barely got in). If the Steelers would have won, it would have been a choke by Buffalo.
You know, despite the Steelers-Ravens rivalry, a part of me really wanted the Steelers to win just for the sheer chaos of 2 #7 seeded teams making it to the Super Bowl. Guess that is not happening now. My biggest question for the Steelers now is what do you want to do moving forward? Even though this team looks like they are just one or two pieces away from contention, Father Time is not going to wait to collect his due. The Steelers defensive unit is in their prime, but the offensive unit is barely catching up. On the defense, the Steelers are still looking for that man in the middle of their front 7, whereas on the offense, you got a QB problem, your o-line is still a work in progress, and your WRs are known more for their attitude problems than their fantastic catches. Unless the Steelers hit on all their draft picks and free agency signings, any window of contention is very slim, especially when you look at the ages of the current defensive core. Their bodies cannot wait forever for the offense to catch up in another 2-3 years. It's pretty telling that a Ravens fan like myself can pinpoint exactly why the Steelers are struggling, and why Steelers fans are upset with this team.
You guys are definitely in plan for a rebuild for a new era after the Tomlin era ends, a sorely needed one overall. But you guys did put in a good effort

I believe we simply need to upgrade at key positions that were lacking. Thankfully it seems Khan and T have a good understanding of who to draft, do that again and we should be dangerous! Only other thing we need is a modern OC. Your right about the culture however, we've lacked the last couple years. However, I think that a decent amount of the younger guys get it. Look at what Naj said after the game, Jones in the lead up, hell, even KP leading up to Canada's demise. It says a lot to our culture no matter how BAD it seems we still find a way not to flop for picks as you alluded and still at least compete. We always leave a gap between 5 and 15 yards out from the snap where we get burned. We have okay receivers but no one is a stud. All things considered, I wouldn’t say our game was a choke job. Sure the Steelers could have played better but the Bills didn’t make a lot of mistakes and were clearly the better team. I never doubted that the difference in experience level would become a factor. After all, this was Mason’s first playoff start against a very experienced Josh Allen. But I certainly hope that Mason is back next season. He’s shown some promise and whether he starts or not, we still need depth at QB. And an improved offensive line would definitely help.
It’s time to do something big and trade for a top qb that’s established or trade up in the draft to get one of the top qbs but last time we traded up in the draft it was for devin bush 💀 so kinda scares me now
Yes this team was as unprepared as the first game of the season. They weren't ready to play a better coached team. Najee said it best when he said, this is just not a disciplined team. It's to late for Tomlin, he's got to much going against him to ever be a good coach. That was pretty much what’s expected. They surprised me by hanging on and actually coming back from 21-0 to 24-17. The Bills shut down the inside running game really well, forcing Mason Rudolph to beat them with his arm, which he didn’t but made some plays that’s worth noting. Though, a new coach and a new QB is warranted. This playoff shows fully the difference between a demigod QB and a good one. A good one cannot carry a team and Kenny’s absolute ceiling is a good one.

Bills were more on fire with their winning streak. Our oline was sloppy with the blocking, defense got sloppy with tackling. I'll look at it like this last year we went 9-8 with a new qb who isnt there yet NFL wise to this year going 10-7. That is an improvement right there. They clawed and didnt give up. I see cam not coming back if Tomlin does walk away. Sadly I can see the steelers falling also if Tomlin walks away. Fans will want the new head coach when we get 1 fired probably after the first game they lose.

I wouldn't call it a choke, as they had to win their last 3, and get help just to get here, AND they were never expected to win the game, anyway. A choke is when you do like Dallas, and win all your home games, then, lay an egg at home against the #7 seed (who barely got in). If the Steelers would have won, it would have been a choke by Buffalo.

You know, despite the Steelers-Ravens rivalry, a part of me really wanted the Steelers to win just for the sheer chaos of 2 #7 seeded teams making it to the Super Bowl. Guess that is not happening now.
My biggest question for the Steelers now is what do you want to do moving forward? Even though this team looks like they are just one or two pieces away from contention, Father Time is not going to wait to collect his due. The Steelers defensive unit is in their prime, but the offensive unit is barely catching up. On the defense, the Steelers are still looking for that man in the middle of their front 7, whereas on the offense, you got a QB problem, your o-line is still a work in progress, and your WRs are known more for their attitude problems than their fantastic catches. Unless the Steelers hit on all their draft picks and free agency signings, any window of contention is very slim, especially when you look at the ages of the current defensive core. Their bodies cannot wait forever for the offense to catch up in another 2-3 years. It's pretty telling that a Ravens fan like myself can pinpoint exactly why the Steelers are struggling, and why Steelers fans are upset with this team.
You guys are definitely in plan for a rebuild for a new era after the Tomlin era ends, a sorely needed one overall.

Remember we SPENT money last offseason in FA, the problem was damn near everyone we signed to start got placed on IR, as in BOTH our ILB's. I believe we simply need to upgrade at key positions that were lacking. Thankfully it seems Khan and T have a good understanding of who to draft, do that again and we should be dangerous! Only other thing we need is a modern OC. Your right about the culture however, we've lacked the last couple years. However, I think that a decent amount of the younger guys get it. Look at what Naj said after the game, Jones in the lead up, hell, even KP leading up to Canada's demise. It says a lot to our culture no matter how BAD it seems we still find a way not to flop for picks as you alluded and still at least compete. Just a few more upgraded pieces and we'll be a real threat again, hopefully as soon as next season. #PS4L

Idk if I'd say we choked. We had a lot riding against us. We really don't have an answer at QB. The O Line is trash, particularly Mason Cole. The Secondary needs help. We always leave a gap between 5 and 15 yards out from the snap where we get burned. We have okay receivers but no one is a stud. Not only that even after Flats Canada got fired, we still have his shit schemes and playbooks to deal with for the near future. Not having TJ this game also burned too. To be fair we were in the wrong weight class. It was a meh year but we did better than we should have.

All things considered, I wouldn’t say our game was a choke job. Sure the Steelers could have played better but the Bills didn’t make a lot of mistakes and were clearly the better team. I never doubted that the difference in experience level would become a factor. After all, this was Mason’s first playoff start against a very experienced Josh Allen. But I certainly hope that Mason is back next season. He’s shown some promise and whether he starts or not, we still need depth at QB. And an improved offensive line would definitely help.
