Good concise video. What I notice is missing from AWS services, is a "STOP" service option when it service exceeds a cost threshold. Example, Stop a service once it reaches $25, etc. I understand there is trade off, and a business website could shut down, thus AWS would rather deal with billing issues than angry CEOs who wants to know why AWS shut down their services for 24hours costing the company huges amount of money.
@@abhisheksagar8886You can ensure you don't accidentally incur excess charges. For Google cloud I "deleted" my kubernetes clusters then stopped using the platform. I ended up no longer receiving budget notifications/alerts so I assumed nothing was still running, but there was apparently a load balancer I created and associated with my cluster that was charging me $2.25 a day. I'd rather switch cloud providers than pay for something I didn't actually use (I guess I technically did use it, but w/e).
I'm not sure if you're aware but your audio has really high bass. It sounds fine on small speakers (laptop/mobile) but on large speakers the bass is just too high that the words are too hard to understand.
By not expiring he means the access to redeem a free trial does not expire. This means you are allowed to redeem the trial whenever you want. When you do redeem your free trial, it will go on for the specified period of time and then you have exhausted that trial.
Some time ago, suddenly, I started receiving emails from the three alerts I had set on my account. When I opened the console, I had a $6000 bill. After one or two days, those bills went to $0 without explanation, lol.

- Sign up for AWS: Ensure to thoroughly understand the AWS free tier to avoid unexpected charges. - Understand Free Tier Categories: Get familiar with the 3 categories of the AWS free tier - Free Trial, 12 Months Free, and Always Free. - Verify Service Configurations: Double-check the settings and configurations of AWS services to prevent accidental usage beyond the free tier limits. - Utilize Monitoring Tools: Take advantage of tools like AWS Free Tier Monitor to keep track of your usage and avoid exceeding thresholds. - Set Budget Alerts: Set up budget notifications on AWS to receive alerts if costs exceed specified thresholds, ensuring proactive cost management. - Monitor AWS Emails: Never ignore emails from AWS regarding your account activity and charges, as they provide essential information to prevent unexpected bills.
Key Takeaways of Free Tier: Three types come under the free tier: 1. (Free Trial:) - Only free for a certain period, like 1 or 2 months, depending on the service. - Will be charged at standard rates in both conditions, first if the trial period ends and second, if the monthly limit exceeds, even if it's the first month, no matter what. 2. (12 Months Free:) - Free for 12 months duration with 750 hours of usage per month. - Example: If you use an EC2 t2.micro instance running 24/7, it will cover approximately 750 hours in a 30-day month. If you launch multiple instances or run instances beyond the 750-hour limit in any given month, you will be charged for the additional hours at the standard rates. 3. (Always Free:) - Offers certain levels of service usage free of charge indefinitely, useful for ongoing small-scale use. - It also has monthly limits but can be used for free forever if the usage is below the limit; otherwise, it will also charge at standard rates depending on the service.
AWS feels like such a scam. Im basically scared to do anything there because if i do any mistake I'll have to pay yearly salary as a punishment for something I didn't know. Great user experience is a key i guess!
I have created aws account one and half years ago, i used ec2 free tier multiple times and i wasn't charged But currently even though i am using t2 micro EC2 instance free tier it took me charges for how long i am using now a days. Can u provide me a solution if i close this current account and create new aws account so i wont be charging for next one year right ?
I just got today Janaury 1st 2024 my ass fucked by AWS, I OWE 90USD shit!. damn fk kill me. I started the year with the wrong foot already. Kill me again shit. If someone can explain me why the fuck this shit happened to me I'll be glad.

I think they have this now in late 2024, a budget threshold you can set at 0.01
You have one of the best AWS tutorials on YT. Thanks!
My tip, I created a virtual card for AWS, my monthly bill is 0.60 usd, I have an auto transfer for 0.50 gbp
But wouldn't it be same? like if you get charged in virtual card you still have to pay there?

@ourjamie How did you create virtual card

This, I can’t watch his videos in the car
Why do free trials not just expire? Surely that's the whole point of a trial - use the service, then terminates after trial period.
So they can trap people into unexpected costs, duh.

Thank you! I signed up using a virtual credit card with a $10 a month limit.

What about separate debt card with 50$ account balance? If your bank can't pay AWS 'extra charge' than the AWS can only hold services.
Hi,
Can I switch off the subscription before it really debits money
Not asking before 12 months, like within the first week itself
?
It's not a free tire but a free trap!

Really informative video. Thanks!
Very clear and helpful. Thx you making a great informative video. Does anyone know a good tutorial youtube channel for Google cloud ?
Good stuff man. This tier stuff can get confusing sometimes
make a video about what to do when aws account gets hacked , i had to go through it few days back , didnt find a good video to mitigate the damage
how aws account can get hacked ?. i think aws has top security.
in simple words, amazon makes this hard to understand on purpose so that they can charge you.

Great Video! ... Now what's AWS?

under billing console.

AWS does a sh*t job not delivering this very kind of information by themselves. Thanx for clarifying.
Join team "self-hosted" and you will never get surprise letters from Bezos.
it's hard to self hosted ?. what's the cost for starting ?.
AWS now offers Dark Patterns for free and will not expire.

Should have set up alerts, used a prefilled card, or used a cheaper service.
AWS really sucks introducing beginners, point for Azure.
If it's not free then i should just not be able to access the service, instead of charging me blindly. Simple as that.
Cheap...not free😂
