Appeal for Construction of New Building for Veda Patasala

Sri Sankara Gurukula Veda Pathasala (SSGVP) was established in 1984 with the blessings of Paramacharyal of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam. In the traditional Gurukula system, the Vidyarthis reside and receive personal care for their living and learning.
From humble beginnings with a handful of students and sparse funding, today the Patasala has more than 130 students at any point of time. All the 3 Vedas (Rig, Yajur and Sama) have been taught here and more than 120 Vidyarthis have passed out with
flying colours as Ghanapatis and Kramapatis. Many of them have pursued higher and advanced studies in Shastra, Bhashyam and other related aspects.
Due to the reputation that SSGVP has today, more and more parents are eager to admit their sons to pursue Veda Adhyayanam. The present infrastructure to accommodate the Vidyarthis is proving to be inadequate.
As a God send, the Suri family has come forward and generously donated more than 3 acres of their land to help build a new campus. As enjoined in the Vedas, we firmly believe that such a meritorious act of service to the Vedas will benefit 21 generations of their family.
We are hopeful of building a campus which can accommodate up to 300 Vidyarthis with necessary amenities for the pursuit of Vedic Studies and also enough facilities for .maintaining a Gowshaala (cow shed). The campus will also include accommodation
for the Adhyaapakas (the teachers) and Library.
