That waiting longer for it to work, recently got me. I’d never used a bunk heater before the last 2 weeks. Either tri-pac running the regular truck heater, or just idling the truck. My boss asked me a couple of weeks ago if my bunk heater worked…and I didn’t even know I had one 😂 Tried to turn it on, and cold air was blowing out…Thought it was broke. Lol. But I turned it on one day and was walking around outside to look at the heater itself, and it actually started. Came back in the cab and it was scorching hot coming out of the vent. It does take longer than what someone is used to, that never used one.
Can the APU be in the ‘off’ position and still run the heater safely? I tried it the other night and it seemed to work just fine, but not sure if the heater would drain the truck batteries down too low? Just curious if the bunk heater actually needs the APU on.

I have heat issues and I let the apu run the whole 5 hours and didn’t get any heat

Mine turns on and it heats up only for like five minutes and it turns back off how come is there like adjusted temperature? Thank you in advance.
