I've used plastic ones to remove the stems with strawberries and they work out fine.They won't last through a lot of them so I'd only use it if I only have a few berries or cherries.

Here: 125 g flour 30 g sugar 2 dashes of salt 35 ml milk 45 g melted unsalted butter 225 g pitted cherries 225 g mascarpone cheese 180 g heavy cream (or double cream) 40 g confectioners sugar This is approximate, but it's pretty close. Hope it helps.
