Viego Pentakill is more like Ruined KIng vibe than himself in the standard lore
he feels like the villain he was supposed to be

That's because here he is actively trying to be a threat to the way of life instead of it being just an afterthought while going on a treasure hunt (seriously he would've fucked off without doing anything if they just let him talk with Isolde's soul and it's not like their relationship was bad, they genuinely loved one another) but here he decided to fuck with the world because it felt like (to him) the status quo killed growth and variance in the world around him and actually does something extremely drastic
@@wejwyj2230 In the in-game event they actually speak to each other, and Viego literally said that Isolde was corrupted by the world they were living in, and that with some time she would think as Viego. So yeah, Viego was just crazy and refused to think that what he was doing was bad, and no, it would have not been solved by "talking it out".

@@NekuSebas Both teams are great, it's the higher ups who you should blame. Both events are simply meant to sell skins. Also pentakill and RoS lore is probably made by the same people.

@@alittledeath2817 a few people yes but lot of the people were forced to writer the SOL event in a way the marketing team wanted thats why the event didn't make sense and we got 3 endings and storys for the event. The SOL event was rushed buy Tencent to get as much money as they could before all the things going on in China lowering time people under 18-20 can play video games.
His canon lore is fine. Just the ruination event was a bit sloppy.
I can't believed we were robbed of this! Pentakill Viego is so cunning, charasmatic, persaussive, and even more attractive! I like to believe this is how Riot really wanted to portray Viego.
It's still a flop tho.
Well after how Seraphine was received for being a pop-star in the real world wedged into the lore, I'm betting Riot was afraid this would go the same way.

smug as hell, charming, and eerily calm
If his occasional bouts of madness were the only time a calm facade broke, he would be more intimidating overall- plus, then it would be pretty clear that he's not all there regarding Isolde, but otherwise still more of a monstrous and indomitable presence than what's left of a broken man. I guess it came down to that- whether to emphasize the man or the monster- and riot chose Viego over the Ruined King.. why exactly is up for debate, but I can understand thinking that a more emotional and human character might appeal to a broader audience.
Pentakill Viego definitely has a more 'in control' vibe going on, and a villain who's composed -whilst a still a bit unhinged- is more appealing and threatening, so I have to agree.
This personality is exactly what I wanted the Ruined King to have. Grew mad due to losing a love one, causing the Ruination. As the Ruined King he no longer loved anything because of it, spreading hate and misery everywhere. Everything just became a tool for him and every life a flicker that he could just snuff out. THAT is what the Ruined King should have been

It was never shown well before, but in Legends of Runeterra the Shadow Isles cards show some more world building; the wraiths and spectres of the Shadow Isles aren't fully human anymore, and only their strongest facets survived the ruination. Most simply faded into the mist if nothing of their sense of self was strong enough.
All that survived of Thresh was his cruelty and cunning. All that survived of Kalista was a desire for vengeance, of Ledros (LoR character) a desire to save those affected and particularly Kalista. The only thing left of Hecarim is the general leading the front lines (much like Sion actually), and Gwen is literally a fraction of Isolde's whole. The Mistwraith card art shows this very well.
And Viego, who died in the moment of greatest hope for saving Isolde, survives only as that. There *is* nothing else to him; he doesn't remember his kingdom, his subjects, his life. He barely remembers who he himself is anymore. Only that he must save Isolde.
Note: Yorick and Maokai probably aren't actually dead. Yorick is sustained by the blessed waters and Maokai is a tree. Karthus is dead, obviously, but as his death wasn't part of the ruination it's hard to say if he was similarly affected.

Dissonance of Pentakill Viego got better writing than Ruination Viego honestly. These videos and this album launch have been a gift that keeps on giving

I never even wanted to go along with his scheme! I knew he was gonna do something similar to this, so I just told him, "I don't know... I don't feel good about this." ...turns out I was right to not be so trusting. I told Viego if this caused too much trouble, I would stop him... and now, that's what I'm gonna do. And I will NOT be alone...
Though honestly, it's refreshing that Riot puts us in the middle of the story this time.... if only they didn't railroad me into helping Viego pull this stunt. I would have known better than to trust him.

It's funny how Viego actually seems evil and threatening while also have this dark sense of charm and appeal in this version. Especially with that "tastes change" bit. I actually got Cenobite chills from that.

I said it before and I'll say it again. If you didn't stay by him at his worst, you don't deserve him at his best. All these simps are those same flakey selfish friends who never hang out with you unless they get something for it. Viego has always been cool.

Hmm... I'm also confused about that human(WE AS PLAYERS). In the Dissonant Verses Story, Melody is the protagonist there and I was thinking that maybe Melody/We, as "the Player" was actually the one who open the gate for Viego... That's my theory

Okay so hear me out. The Light of the Sentinels event didn’t really work in the visual novel format, but these stories probably would have.
Instead of reading some really bad stories of the sentinels, you would unlock the next Pentakill lore video

Always bothered me that he's always depicted with hordes of undead or in this case hordes of metal fans but he doesn't have a single ability in-game where he uses anything like that.
He gains control/ imitates the behaviour of the champion whom he kills, in that sense the crowd make sense imo

Also the fact that he is getting legendary was leaked by man who already successfully leaked the phoenix and sentinels skin lines. I don't tell that this is 100% Fiddle skin but there is really good clues pointing on that
