Sold my OG Arc for $500, got 15% off Ultra so I only paid $350 for my ultra. For me it was a no brainer. Love the sound. More detail, better bass out of my subs (lower crossover), they pair very well with the 300s (Arc was a little underpowered for the 300s as surrounds), atmos ‘dome’ is noticeably better, dialogue is improved. I also bet over the next few months with some updates Sonos will really dial the Ultra in. If you’re in the market for a new soundbar and can afford it then get the Ultra.
I bought the ark and I thought the sound was amazing until I heard the ultra so I swapped it out. added a mini sub and a sub 4 and four 100s and two 300s and omg talking about amazing sound. It blows every sound system I’ve ever had out of the water Sonos is definitely the way to go.
Great review! Hope you do well. Picked up an Arc Ultra, and if anything he is understanding how great this sound bar is on its own. My main system is Kef towers, receiver, and all the other stuff. The Sonos bar Arc Ultra is amazing. Dont believe me or anyone else. buy it at a place with a good return policy just in case u dont like it. That wont be the case
Hello, question for you. Just replaced my arc with the ultra. Thinking of replacing my surround 1's with the era 300. Do I have to do the Trueplay all over again ? Thank you. Also liked your video. Very informative.
I have a open floor plan. I have the sub 4 , and era 100's. Would you recommend I make the jump to the Arc ultra? I know its $300 more with this black friday deal.
I will be purchasing the Arc Ultra ... I need to purchase everything in 3 steps (budget). Should I purchase the Era 300s as my second addition and then the Gen 4 Sub? I should I purchase the Gen 4 sub second and then the Era 300s?
The Arc Ultra provide improved bass you can hear over the Arc/Beam/Ray. Adding a sub provides bass you can hear and "feel". The sub also takes over the lower bass frequency so the soundbar can concentrates on the mids/highs for additional soundbar clarity.
@@kvdhruvesh3387 haha I do live in an apartment, hmm maybe it'll consider getting a sub mini will see, just thought this new arc might be already as powerful as a sub mini and no point getting it but maybe not
I’ll stick to my OG Arc for now until Sonos listen to its consumers. 2 things why - the dialogue is still low on arc ultra. They should forget about the bass. No one uses a soundbar without a separate sub anyway. 2. Sonos should add an hdmi for input so we can plug in streaming devices directly.
The Arc and Arc Ultra does sound better as you add sub(s) and surrounds. The audio differences will start to narrow if you have those extra pieces compared stand alone soundbar. If you don't have an issue with dialogue, might be a bigger bang-for-the-buck audio wise adding a single/dual subs and/or Era 100/300 rears to the Arc.
I use the apple tv for everything and whit the new update dialogue enhance and if you have the hole Sonos set up you don’t need the ultra the difference is very little and whit not dts and not hdmi pass trough is not worth it for 1000 dlls more

Those tests don't mean much because it's a optimised demo. Using a streaming service like Netflix will much more show the sound in every day use. Often it's a little bit of a let down. I think the design is great but it does not support all audio codecs like every other soundbar. Take the Q990D from Samsung which supports DTS-X etc and with Black Friday sales is cheaper for a whole set up (surrounds etc) just compared to the Arc. Only problem you have to live with an ugly design 😂
Yeh the sound test is always tricky. Especially because RUclips compresses the audio. But the Dolby Atmos demo is good because it uses all aspects of the speaker in a short time. I think DTS X is more relevant for Blu Rays. It would be interesting to know the stat for how many people still use those.
@@WhatGear I stopped using DVD/Blu-Ray back in 2020. Sonos works for me with Xifinity w/ DVR service, no gaming, online/iphone music, and streaming apps.

How were you able to get 15% off the ultra. Interested in doing the same thing

is worth getting a sub mini? or just arc ultra by itself is good enough?

How is it compares to Sennheiser ambeo max?🤔
I've actually never had the chance to test the Abeo. I've heard good things about it though.
Thanks! How can I play that Dolby test?
I got the demo direct from the Dolby website.

What if You have the Sub? Is the difference smaller then?

The first version of the Arc
Ohhhh I just noticed the typo 😆 god damn! The worst thing is asked someone to watch the video and look for mistakes. They didn't spot it 🤦

Better off getting a AV Receiver and Surround Sound Speakers be better sound quality and larger sound stage
Ok you do that and then go make your own RUclips video
I got to say by itself you can hear the difference , but is enough to fork out $1800 au I don't think so, I'm happy with the original arc.
It's £999 out here, £720 for the original. After conversion is it more expensive out there?

ARC the Herald Angels Sing ...GLORY to Sonos and the beam...
This is ai. None of you on RUclips are actually speaking in front of a camera.
Hhaha 😂 I wish it was that easy. I wrote filmed this in one day. Edited on a plane to Amsterdam and at the hotel in Amsterdam.
The company they acquired is not 100 years old 😂
But...apparently the tech they were working on has been developed over that amount of time.
