Carnoustie brought me to my knees- with a minimum 4 club wind, I felt battered and almost broken. But I can't wait to do it all again!! Great video mates!!!
A well-deserved recognition of John Philp’s massive hand in getting our links back in shape in the early 90s. The fella was out there twenty hours a day crawling around in his trademark blue & white Toyota pickup. If we ever saw it along the high street during daylight hours, we’d think it had been pinched!
Was very privileged to know John back in the day when scottish open came to us sponsored by Daily record I think 95-96,what John did with course was phenomenal very proud to grow up in carnoustie and very proud my family were members at the Caledonian club, great video, miss playing links golf 😢
What a course , what a thrill to play it in 2005 with 3 mates , we are all from Australia. I was 60 years old (6 handicap) I started with a birdie on the first and a par on 18 with a good 4 iron to the middle of the green . I failed on 17 where I didn’t know the line from the tee and found the Byrne for a double. I finished with a 78.
Not much I can add to this lads !! As you know big Fan of you Guys and it gets better and better each time. Carnoustie is one of my favourite courses I've ever played last time September 2020, Carnoustie is a Course that punishes you to the Point it plays with your mind it gives you one hole then takes three holes back off you but keeps drawing you in for the battle ❤ unbelievable place and looking forward this September to go into another battle with Carnoustie ❤.
I have been fortunate enough to play some of the best courses in the world, I have played Carnoustie in the sun the rain and gale force winds where the ball refuses to sit still but Carnoustie matches every top course and as for links golf this is simply the king.
Unbelievable again Guys wow.....my favourite course played it 4 times turned up on the first Tee as a Man and came off a boy 😂this course is the William Wallace of Golf Courses it takes you into a battle it's definitely haunted it gives but takes never underestimated this Course it demands respect and draws you to fall in love with it and want to play again despite beating you up......what a video and all the People who took part are a credit to the Club and tell you how it is and if you don't respect the Course it will make life difficult for you.....best course in the world in my eyes......Guys as I said unbelievable and magnificent ❤️⛳️
great video.....my favourite course of all courses. anyone who says Paul Lawrie was lucky to win must have forgotten he birdied 17 twice and birdied 18th on the final day. If thats not outstanding then i dont know what is.
Played on the ROTA but Muirfield and Hoylake and it stands alone with Turnbury as the best test. Played it in 1997 and you could see the quality even when it was in ordinary condition, and again in 2001 when it was in sublime shape, as good as golf gets IMHO.
Played it 2006 from the back tees. The course is fair but if you get offline you have to take your medicine. 16th 250 Yard par 3, managed a par, highlight of the day. I was thinking, take that Tom Watson. What a golf course, my favourite place to have played ever.
@@CookieJarGolf I really did enjoy the film. Brought back happy memories playing a wonderful course with a group of good friends. Also played the other two courses and they were all in wonderful condition. Very lucky to have played in good weather conditions . Thanks again.
Played it in wind and rain shot 112 gross. Platyed it next day shot 75. The only course in the world where you are firing directly at bunkers on every shot except poss first tee shot.😅😅

The added commentary by the club members and officials complements the video so well. Your drone footage is on point mister!!

Crushed it again, gents. Very well done.

Fantastic video. Paul Lawrie was a worthy winner who sometimes doesn't get the credit he deserves

Hey Richard - yeah it’s tough, and you’ve got to hit it good but it’s also pretty fair. Hope you enjoyed the film

Awesome vid boys - seriously undertold story of lawrie at the 99 open. His chronicles of a champion golfer is a great watch too
Also, Bruce's drive @6:35, miles right, right?
Well done again Cookie Jar Golf

best place to win the open after st Andrews, you really have conquered something to win at Carnoustie
