When I used to rebuild s Screw machine's I used a deep fryer to warm up the bearing just use a good oil have temp below flash point that way it's not dry when you put it together.
I have learned something new from you once again, I never knew or even thought about such a thing as a bearing heater. You getting the spring tillage equipment ready can only mean one thing, spring is just around the corner. 😉 Thank you for today's video.
With the exception of a press, heating them is really the best way period. What some people are unaware of, you can also place "items" in a deep freezer, let it sit a day, shrinks them down. Same principle only backwards and yes, you'll run into situations that does require it to be shrunk down a bit. I think you'll find, that heater will pay for itself in short order. Cheers :)
Thanks for the all the videos. I was wondering if you have ever done a tool box / shop tour video? If you haven't, would you consider doing one? Those always seem popular and I find them very interesting. Thanks again for all the videos, they are fun and educational to watch.
We use a $30 toaster oven from Walmart. Works like a charm. Even hoisted it 110 ft in the air and put new bearings in our 30 hp motor on top a grain leg. Done hundreds of bearings in a toaster oven, never had any problems
I knew I seen that bearing warmer in a recent video, that's pretty cool, another amazing product, Thanks Again for the great content Joey From Statesville NC
I'm jealous.............I'm still using a 2 burner electric hot plate. I think Warren was heating them in a crock pot full of oil before he bought his bearing heater. His new truck has a 120v inverter so he can take the bearing heater out on service calls. Repairs are always far less taxing & aggravating with the right tools. Best of luck............
I wish you wouldve showed us a closer view. Reading the comments i read some nifty tricks for someone that might have a once or very seldom need for heating a bearing
I'll do a video on it, we replace a fair amount of bearings to make it a worth while investment. There are plenty enough other ways to do things for sure and for something like this I want to just be able to heat up the inner part of the bearing.I could use this one time putting together a bearing the right way and it would it for itself verses what it would cost with a bearing failure. Insurance companies and lawyers can act kind of funny when something goes wrong from something that is used for what it wasn't designed for.
I just seen Warren rebuild a planetary hub on a JD and he heated that big bearing up with that heater you have and it slid on like butter...👍
The way we used to do it at John Deere when I was there we had a electric skillet we had oil in and you threw the barring in it and heat it up.

That's a pretty useful item! You'll probably get a lot of use out of it with all the machinery repairs you have! Thanks for sharing!

Those work to
Kept an old deep fryer and basket in the corner of our shop and used it...worked well....pre-lubed the bearing as well. 😉👍
You sound like a dumb question but did you have motor oil in it or your regular cooking oil in it
That's actually a good idea
Just pay attention to flash point of your oil what ever oil you want.
I knew I seen that bearing warmer in a recent video, that's pretty cool, another amazing product, Thanks Again for the great content Joey From Statesville NC

I saw you with your new toys the other day Best of luck..........
Every little bit helps, just passing along the info
How long will it take to heat up the bearings?
Few minutes
Excellent
That looks like a smart thing to have around, can you adjust how hot it warms the bearing or is it just on or off.
You know I have to read the directions yet.
I haven't tried it but here's how to warm a bearing in a microwave.
