- A large crowd was already enjoying the rides and nice weather when I arrived around noon, but once the clouds and rain and gusty winds took over late in the day, the crowd quickly thinned. New restaurants this year are Hugo's Italian Kitchen (replacing Midway Market) and BackBeatQue (replacing Witches' Wheel.) The Cedars dorms have been demolished and monster trucks have temporarily been seen in the area -- Monster Jam wasn't open during my visit. Dinosaurs Alive is gone as well -- that area is being transformed into Forbidden Frontier on Adventure Island, opening soon. The Corkscrew trains got a sweet retro makeover, and Tilt-a-Whirl got repainted and renamed. Mine Ride and Magnum are celebrating their 50th and 30th anniversaries respectively, and there are new entrance signs for each. Oh yeah, there's a new outhouse along Frontier Trail that I highly recommend (thanks to Tilt-a-Whirl Anne for letting me know about that!) Filmed Saturday, May 11, 2019.
The outhouse might be my new favorite thing. 'That's just... wow'
It had me hooked. They placed it next to a tavern...it'll be funny to see the drunk folks actually wanting to use it :)
it makes me happy that people come here because i grew up there
Cedar Point and Kings Island makes me want to move to Ohio!

@@CoasterBob62 On Saturday May 18th, I was lucky enough to receive my first ever rollback! I was riding the gold train and sitting in the front row!
adamthecoasterfanatic Sunday May 19th I wa also there top thrill was closed for the day. However later in the day they started to test it got so many rollbacks, I would say probably over 10 they just didn’t open. I was there the whole weekend and r got on it

I went to Cedar Point on Tuesday, May 21st. Temperature at 9am was 50-degrees. Because of the cold, smallest crowds I had ever seen in my adult life at CP. By 2pm, I rode all but two rides in the front cars completed without even running! BEST TIME EVER!!!!
That outhouse guy has got to learn some manners.
I’m going back to this park after 11 years (I couldn’t ride anything at the time I was little) and I’m so excited to ride the rides they have there!!

Thank you! That's what I love about amusement parks, they're there for folks to just have fun and forget about their worries, and I try to capture that.
Good video. We were there May 21,22,and 23 of 2019 and had a good time. It was our first time visiting and we're looking forward to going back in 2020.
If he's still in the outhouse by the time you get back, call 911. Actually you should have called 911 that night.

I couldnt stay for the ERT, I think we left about 630 or 7, too cold for my blood!
Once it started to rain and knowing that I wouldn't be able to ride until late, I bailed too. And yes, it was pretty cold.

My daughter and I were there. We were on Millie’s first train on opening for the third year in a row. It stopped while we on the lift later that day. Fun times. 👍

My husband and I traveled all the way from St. Louis Missouri to Cedar Point this day. Some of the rides were out of service, some vendor were closed, and the Fast track pass wait was 20mins-45mins. It was extremely cold this day too!
Next time, We will go the end August on week day. That’s when they said it’s the best time to come.

Hard to control the weather. I like Cedar Point but prefer Kings Island.
Jerry Allen King's Island Opening day was great. Walk ons on almost everything due to the weather.

I went then and was in line for 3 hours. It was so cold.

Serious question, why can't they open all year round? I think Magic Mountain is opened year round. Is it cause of the winter?
gissneric Yes. Ohio can have an extremely bad winter one year and a mild winter the next. I know from experience.
Midwestern winters can be brutal
And also, Cedar point is right on the water. The cold would be unbearable and the snow.... I shudder
Plus you need the college work force as well. Disney in Florida uses the older more seasoned workers and they dont like the snow. Hence why they now live in sunny Florida

Cedar Point is an amusement park. Disneyland/World and Universal Studios are theme parks.
They need a ghost train. All classic amusement parks have a ghost train.

I’m thinking about a trip to Cedar Point, I’ve only ever been to Dollywood and Kings Dominion. It’ll be an 8 hour drive one way for me, is it worth it? I drove 6 for Kings Dominion and really had a good time.
You need to come plan for 3 days. There s lot of coasters to ride

Love the video, but wow does cedar point make me mad sometimes. That sign at steel Vengeance with the medal detectors for keys and phones. It’s a way to force people to pay for lockers. It’s conflict of interest. I’d been completely ok with it if the lockers were free, but come on this is a terrible thing to do to your guests.
