MANNNNNNNnnnn this is so great. I joined a Crossfit gym at 38, and only really started showing up around 40. At 42 im in the best shape ive been in since my swimming days (in my teens), and the strongest Ive ever been. Love you guys, keep up the great work.
YEEEEESSSSS 🔥 thank you for doing this series! I'm 41, started CrossFit at 36, and I am the fittest I have ever been! Shout it to the rooftops, some of us just start hitting our stride at 40 🎉
No.. plain and simple. And here is why.. yes you can be the strongest and fittest YOU have ever bin at 40. Most deffinetly. But that just means you didn't reach your full potential in your 20s or early 30s. That's all. Young strength is 100% real. Weather is testosterone or competitiveness driving it. Or not knowing you shouldn't do that.. Basically you get full mentall assistance. Cause you havnt learned why its a bad idea yet. As you get older and need near maximum output. Your body will tell your brain...no! Bad idea! Anyone that gave everything they could muster in there 20s and is now 40.. has zero doubt of this. It's why pro athletes arnt typically on the field at 40.
I'm so beyond stoked for this series. No group of people inspires me more to do fitness. I've always feared aging but you guys give me confidence that the end doesn't have to be in sight ❤
Love this and what timing! I’m 39 and turn 40 in April. I took on the same challenge after I turned 39 dedicating myself to be the fittest I’ve been by 40. Last weekend I took my first podium spot at a CrossFit competition and I’m only just getting started. Keep on being an inspiration Heebs 👊🏼
Boys ... thoroughly enjoyed this episode ... and most importantly, the energy everyone had for one another when going after new PR's. At 54, I train at home, and as such, heavy on the music to push me through. I retested myself last month and recorded them. As Jules said, recorded for future kids (in my case, so my 17 and 21 year old could see what dad is still capable of). Box squats now preferred 'as an older gentleman' ahum ahum - 2x 180kg (360lb), bench @ 150kg (330lb), and deadlift 200kg (440lb) and the next day, hit a cheeky 227kg (500lb) just to see if I could.
Epic episode!!!!!! This shows the importance of nutrition, sleep, training regimen, and the environment you place yourself in. Congrats on all the big lifts, can’t wait to see the next one!!!
Rooting for you to keep progressing and inspiring people. You bros deserve absolutely everything you have earned and MUCH more! what a vid... Cole is something else lol those front squats were nasty. I have severed my achilles, broke my other leg's knee, and have chronically injured back from growing up athletic, but without focused on recovery. I am turning 32 and this year (2024), I have got my 315 deadlift back and I'm trying to reclaim that 275 squat. Scale for life! I really felt that energy when you hit it at the start of the video, Heebs. Keep it up, guys!!
Watched this driving back from the farm after a long day on the grind and just brought so much energy and joy! Love the content, love the joy and @Julian deserves a hot dog for a Herculean effort. @Mars having 2 years to go till 40 you are definitely an inspiration. Much love from the beautiful islands of Fiji 🇫🇯 Vinaka and keep it buttery bros!
Just turned 45 last weekend and in the best shape of my life. Loved watching you guys getting after it! Huge smiles the whole time. Getting buttery with it! Cheers
I do this every year for my birthday and now I'm more pumped up to get in and get all new PR's! Congrats! Inspirational as always. Goals are: BS - 400lbs, BP - 260lbs (broke my hand two months ago), DL - 450lbs. Jules should glizzy up for short changing himself.
Holy crap what a great episode!! I was in the living room hooting and hollering for ya Heebs!! At 50 my DL is 375 and I’m hoping for 400 with this strength cycle we are in. Mad props bro!!! Great job.
1:25 - 1:30 I see no changes... 😀😆 I enjoyed that. I've always enjoyed BB videos (and I don't do crossfit) but the bros are stepping it up !! So much growth!
Great series, awesome to hear everyone in the comments committing to fitness in their 40s and beyond! I turned 40 this month. Been CrossFitting for 10 years and am still catching the occasional PR. 3 years ago I set goals for myself to hit once I turned 40. There are 13 workouts - metcons (both short and long), strength (CrossFit Total), gymnastics, and olympic lifting. I hit my first goal today - my dead lift 1 rep max goal (actually rep'd it for 3).
Awesome :) It wasn't necessarily my plan but since I turned 40 I have PRed several lifts as well... It started with the quarterfinals in 2022 when we had to do the CFT and I managed a PR in all three. Who knew! Since then I have PRed my C&J and snatch as well :) Nice work guys and Julian should definitely enjoy himself a cold dog (or two).
51 year old here. Started CrossFit 6 years ago. Never lifted weights before. Back Squat PR - #330. Deadlift PR - #355. Bench - #180. But I feel really good for my age. Age is just a number! Love this video.
I started Crossfit at 40. I'd been a gym rat for some time but the last 5-ish years prior to Crossfit I was not disciplined at all. Relatively overweight, out of shape, and not near as strong as I used to be. Today at 42 I have pr'd every lift except my bench press and deadlift but am closing in on both right now. I've set my 2024 goals high. 375 clean and jerk, 275 snatch, 600 deadlift, 500 squat, 350 bench.
Omg!, I was so pumped watching this…We’ll done Heebs - what an inspiration!, I was going to sleep in tomorrow, but I might just do some deadlifts in the morning… 💪💪
Did not think I could get that hyped for someone else working out in a video... but MAN, during that bench press session. WOW. I was rooting for everyone.
Just turned 44 and I am in the best shape of my life and getting fitter every day. Age is just a number. Keep setting and meeting goals and you will never age!
12 years ago When Cole first started doing CrossFit he came into our box and I challenged him in the workout and he just destroyed me been a fan of him ever since
Yah fit and 40! I am 42 and I am also the fittest I have ever been due to consistency in my workouts and eating. Love the goals. Also yes Julian should definitely eat at least 1-3 hotdogs for lowballing his goals lol.
Jules sandbagged so much! Even before the lifting I knew his goals were too low. GIVE THAT MAN A GLIZZY!!!! Now Heebs congrats on your 3 PRs that is impressive! Can't wait to see you bust through your other goals.
This is awesome! Every episode just gets better and better! You guys always make my day and give me a sense of community! Thank you! Also huge shout out to Cole Sager!
Cole came down to the Festivus Games event I competed in and took pictures with everyone and even joined one of the events in an open lane just for fun. He’s a really good dude. I’m glad to see him on here.
Best video you guy's have put out in a long time...Maybe ever. Jules is my man, I just want to watch Die Hard with him and then go get ice cream. Also, watching Hebe's hit that bench was electric, congrats my man!
Great job! Maybe you mentioned it and I didn’t catch it, but curious what strength program you used? Also curious if you noticed much difference between approach at 40 and when you were younger? I’m 43 myself, found CF a few years ago and been trying to get stronger for past few years and gains seem to come slooowwwlly. Thanks
As much as I'd love for Julian to pound a cold dog, I'm inclined to give him a break. He didn't call it when he hit his low ball lifts, he kept on going!
I truly love you guys! Amazing amazing episode. I watched it like three times! Lol, Heaber Happy 40th birthday my goodness you look so much younger and so much stronger at 40!!!! I'm sure you know 40 is the new 20!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤🥰🍰🎂🎂🎂🍰
I stumbled across this two years later (must be search algorithms) and going to do more swings. I actually do at least once a week now. Question is what can you do to work on biceps with tennis elbow? I’ve tried changing to neutral grip but still hurts when I workout.
DOES JULIAN DESERVE A COLD HOT DOG?
Yes on Jules
💯
Oh yes
🤤
100%
Julian sandbagged so hard. GLIZZY THAT BRO IMMEDIATELY! Also holy shit you guys are strong ✌🏼
MANNNNNNNnnnn this is so great. I joined a Crossfit gym at 38, and only really started showing up around 40. At 42 im in the best shape ive been in since my swimming days (in my teens), and the strongest Ive ever been. Love you guys, keep up the great work.
Welcome to the best chapter.
Love it, I'm 32 (started CF 2.5 years ago). Feeling my strongest/most athletic
YEEEEESSSSS 🔥 thank you for doing this series! I'm 41, started CrossFit at 36, and I am the fittest I have ever been! Shout it to the rooftops, some of us just start hitting our stride at 40 🎉

The level of energy when Heebs hit his bench PR…… maaaaannn I got CHILLS and was LITERALLY screaming at my phone.
I'm so beyond stoked for this series. No group of people inspires me more to do fitness. I've always feared aging but you guys give me confidence that the end doesn't have to be in sight ❤

@@ButteryBros1Just keeping them, and me, honest
Epic episode!!!!!! This shows the importance of nutrition, sleep, training regimen, and the environment you place yourself in. Congrats on all the big lifts, can’t wait to see the next one!!!

I thought I counted 11!
Rooting for you to keep progressing and inspiring people. You bros deserve absolutely everything you have earned and MUCH more!

One of the best ever episodes, what’s not to like enjoying seeing people hit PBs and Cole Sager hyping the scene to the max!
Let’s go Jules…let’s get that cold dog!
Bros, great idea to start this series. Can´t wait to see the upcoming episodes.
And yes: Jules has been sandbagging, those lifts looked easy!

As much as I'd love for Julian to pound a cold dog, I'm inclined to give him a break. He didn't call it when he hit his low ball lifts, he kept on going!

That Ultimate Warrior vest is sick!
Jules was impressive!! Good job to all the boys
I stumbled across this two years later (must be search algorithms) and going to do more swings. I actually do at least once a week now. Question is what can you do to work on biceps with tennis elbow? I’ve tried changing to neutral grip but still hurts when I workout.
Also, this is my new favorite Buttery Bros Episode.
This was so much fun!!! Great job everyone!
Wow 😮!!! Super impressive Heebs!
Too kind!!
