    Thanks so much, Reza. This is so useful for the Rangers who work in our national parks. They'll be able to select locations based on areas to complete safety checklists for issues like fires, floods and other incidents. You make their work easier under challenging circumstances!!

    Hi Reza,
    Thank you for the amazing tutorials on Power Apps; they have been incredibly helpful!
    I have a question regarding a combobox with multiple selections in Power Apps. I am struggling to set the DefaultSelectedItems property to retrieve the selected values stored in a SharePoint list. Could you please provide some guidance or a formula to achieve this?

    Hi Reza! Great video as always. I used scenario 1 for Category and Subcategory only. While it works on the new item creation, for some reason when I view the item that was created (to update/or just view) the subcategory field is blank. It's like the subcategory combobox is not reading the previously saved info.

    • @RezaDorrani
      @RezaDorrani  14 дней назад

      Its probably more to do with how you are patching data in first place to your data source. Then comes reading existing data.

    Thank you very much Reza. When the multiselect option is not active and you want to deselect the selected option, it does not display 'Select items' again, but instead shows the last selected option.

    Thanks so much for these videos, they are so helpful for me and explained really well. Is there a way in a dropdown/combobox to only list the values that appear in a SharePoint multiple choice column. So not show all the possible values/choices in a lookup field - only those that have been selected in the data.

      It is possible to do that by using distinct function on that column data BUT it would run into delegation issues if data set is large.

    As always you are a life saver Reza 😊. I am now facing a problem. I am using a for to capture new entries.The source is a dataverse table with 4 columns (Region, Country, Location) of type text & Area which is a multi select choice column. I am trying to achieve a multi select cascading on the combo boxes where I changed the default text boxes of Region, country & location to combo boxes. Now if i chose region, then its depended country & based on the country its depended location should be shown. I have achieved that but i am not able to achieve the depend areas when a location is selected. The Dataverse multi select choice column is giving me trouble. Can you help me to solve this. I used the formula Filter(Tble name,Location in Loc_combo.Selected.Value).Area this gives me an error "Error loading control"

    hello sir, it always a great instruction from you but i was wondering, im trying the first option since i wanted to dodge the delegation warning from distinct. but apparently for my category combobox items, it can’t make me to set the column for me. so it only goes like “choices(‘my list’)” because apparently adding a dot will make it unidentified. is there a solution for that sir?

    • @RezaDorrani
      @RezaDorrani  12 дней назад

      I have not come across the error of unidentified when adding a dot. Not sure why it would not be working in your case.

    Hi Reza, awesome video as always.
    You have guided me so much since I started this journey 13 months ago as a middle-aged dude.
    I built a small app recently with cascading combo-boxes for a training portal app.
    The first combo box allows the admin to select a Document Library name from a list of items which then triggers a switch to different galleries for the admin to select multiple documents from and this also filters the next combo-box to employees in multiple mail enabled security groups where the admin can then select multiple employees to assign the training documents to.
    However, one of the galleries is a general access document library so I made a collection of all the employees in the other security groups so the group is quite large.
    Is there an easy way to select all items/employees (at once) in a modern multiselect combo-box or could you possibly point me in the right direction of how to achieve this?
    I tried working with chatGPT but I have not found a solution to date.
    Apologies for the long comment.

      Thanks!
      Your scenario is something I would have to try to know what options are there or what direction to take.

      I might put it in as a requested feature for the modern combo-box as it will compliment the new checkbox style.

    Hi. How do you do this is both you cascading dropdowns are in a form and bound to a single sharepoint list? I tried replacing the controls with dropdowns from the toolbox but the other sharepoint list wasnt recognised.

    • @RezaDorrani

      I have done videos in past on cascading with forms. It depends on a lot of factors - column type - single/multi selection etc.

    Question:
    I have a SharePoint list and i want to use power automate to update the column choice itself. Example: I have a column called "Service Member" and using a choice type. I have 27 choices . What i want to do is use power automate to look at my excel sheet for updated names, delete the choice and re-add the new choice from my list. Is this possible? Any help would be great .

      In my case also Products is a SharePoint list. I then relate it to a different list using a lookup column to define the categories for products.

    Reza, this is a random RUclips question but I seem to recall awhile back you were talking about memberships and said RUclips is coming out with a TVOD pay per view option. Is that true? Do you have anymore details on it? Also are you able to set memberships as an annual yearly purchase? I’m looking at TVOD or memberships for a work RUclips channel.

    The instructions published in the video do not work except for one detail and I just can't get any further. I have linked two combo boxes via Distinct, which also saves the correct result in the SharePoint list. In edit mode, I can select and save the correct values. In view mode afterwards, however, no value is displayed in the second combo box and when editing the data record again, the second combo box is empty. As if the SharePoint list does not contain a value.

      @@RezaDorrani Thanks for the enquiry. Yes, i downloaded and studied the template as a learning example. On a blank page everything works as it should. When i integrate the two required comboboxes "Category" and "Subcategory" into a form, it does not work correctly. In edit mode, i can select the content in both comboboxes and save them in the Sharepoint list. In the view mode of the form, i only see the content of the "Category" combobox and the "Subcategory" combobox shows no content.
