Well Jas have proven they are better than f16 and f15 in some exercises. Non of f16 or f15 can super cruise which Jas 39 gripen e/f can and neither of them have the same electronic warfare capabilities as Jas 39 e/f, plus Jas 39 gripen costs 8 000 per Flight hour while f16 cost 25000-30000 per flight hour and f15 about the same If needed you can change the engine in less than a hour with 5 conscripts and two highly skilled mechanics With f16 it takes around 6 hours with 27 personnel and about the same with f15
