They lose the money just the same if it's a steal/split. I doubt they care either way, the show jackpot total was about £550k and I think they gave out around £460k of that. Average I guess £11k given per episode. Very cheap if the show was popular (unsure how many viewers it got tbh)

If both split, everyone is happy. If both steal, they're both greedy and are sad. If one chooses steal, one will be basically dead of sadness and the other will shut the hell up and feel guilty. This is why you both should split, but if thats the case the show wouldve gotten dry.
