I had the sky rc 13.5 in my xpress tc, a good motor, they make 2, 13. 5 motors but unfortunately only 1 is on the BRCA approved list. And of course I'd bought the non approved one, so had to get a different motor for the 13.5 Halifax national meeting last year 😒
A tip (pun intended) for you. The tip of a soldering iron should be clean, shiny and tinned at all times! Get a proper tip cleaner and make sure to put a thin coating of solder on the tip before you turn off your iron. If YT allowed links I'd show you a photo of the tip of my iron. Remember that soldering is all about transferring the heat from the tip of your iron to the joint and then applying solder to the joint so it melts to form the connection. A dirty and dull tip is never going to transfer sufficient heat and you'll end up with dry joints.
You can get new soldering iron tips for a few bucks. I never understand why people hold on to their crusty tip like its some religious artifact. Once its crusted up, just change it. IF you file or othervise mess with it, you lose the lining(copper I think?), and it just gonna be worse in the long run. :)
@@PopalongRC I had a soldering iron I had for like 15+ years which was a complete mess, then I watched some tutorials, and actually found out that the tip can be changed. Made soldering a lot easier lol. I actually find it quite fun now that its a lot easier :D
Looks fun!
Really enjoying it

Ooow not even checked the list ….
Motor is still off the pace at the rest
Which one was on the list
@@PopalongRC it's the one which code ends 3-58
I think the other ends something like - 76
did you wind up the can timing on the 13.5 motor to 45-48 degrees though? This is worth doing when running blinky mode.
Good to know I’ll do it before I head out

how fast would the 8.5f motor be?
A lot quicker than the 13.5 but not legal in gt12
@@PopalongRC right ok, thanks

Yes, filing a tip is a very bad idea.
