    This costs like 3 lakh on-road. Might look like a lot, but a new Bajaj auto costs like 2 lakh on-road. For all the improvements, over the auto, the 90K premium is justified. What makes me sad when I watch this is not about the Qute. It is about the Nano. The Nano was far superior to this. It had a top speed of around 100 kmph, had AC, power-steering, much better suspension. In all, so much more superior. But the need to compromise quality for the unnecessary promise of a 1-lakh car killed it on day 1. Which in turn also leads to branding and positioning. If you look at the Qute videos, particularly for the overseas market, there are lots of videos showing how the Qute is able to handle the rough roads in some countries, to the snow covered roads in eastern Europe to its ability to handle no-road conditions too. Then it is about the overall cost-of-ownership. The nano positioning was all about "to get you a 1 lakh car we had to do all these compromises". If only Ratan Tata swallowed his ego just that bit, focussed on quality and aimed at the "most sensible city car" and marketed the Nano at 2 lakh instead of 1 lakh, the Tata group would not have had to go with all the compromises like 3 lug nuts and a host of others in the initial model that ultimately resulted in a failure.

      No bro , it's made of super thin steel monocoque chassis, no airbags or even a collapsable steering column
