I've been doing it for 3 years after finding waxing and threading my sideburns and cheeks too painful and I can assure you my facial hair has not become thicker or grown faster. But I know what you mean, it only appears thicker because naturally your hair has a thin, pointed tip so hair appears thin and fine. Shaving cuts it horizontally which makes the tip appear blunt instead of thin and pointed. So hair looks thicker because of the removal of fine tip :)
I’m 16 and I moved to US from India this year. Tbh I have so much facial hair that I look that the guys here are jealous of me for having mustache. I asked my mom if I can shave and told me to stfu and if I speak another word she’s gonna beat me 😶. At start, I started with a small patch which was full of hair, then the facial hair started spreading. Once you start there is no going back, I REGRET IT NOW. Your genetics and hormones control the majority of where your hair grows and how thick your hair grows. I am 18 and have been doing laser hair removal for my entire body for past few months. It is working soooo well. You cannot wax or thread in between sessions, only shave as the root must stay intact otherwise progress goes back to square 1. Higher risk of skin irritation or hyperpigmentation for very dark skin tones but for my brown skin it is fine as long as you go to an accredited professional - Don't be cheap for this!!! It is a bit expensive but so worth it as after 6-12 sessions depending on your hair thickness, results are permanent. And it also barely hurts, just feels like a hot rubber band flicking your skin so I highly recommend. Ask any questions if you'd like :)

I use a dermaplaning device which is a single bladed straight razor for the face and neck. I use a cleanser on my skin then aloe vera gel to shave then do the rest of my skincare. Some people do it on dry skin but for my sensitive skin I need a gel. Watch a tutorial for more info :)
Wax powder is good for body but my experience with facial wax powder has always been bad, wax powders use a chemical called BaS that are used in hair removal creams same with the facial ones and it might irritate your skin and cause acne that leaves dark spots cuz facial skin is much more delicate.

Im 18 and I've been doing laser hair removal at home for 4 months. I use an ipl machine which uses Intense Pulsed Light as a semi-permanent hair removal method. Usually results last for a couple years but if you do maintenance after all sessions are done every once in a while, results last forever. In between sessions, you cannot wax or thread only shave because the root must stay intact otherwise you won't see any results. Pain is minimal only feels like a hot rubber band flicking the skin. Since it is an at home device and not with a professional, please do your research before buying because skin colour plays a huge role in the effectiveness of the device and eliminating any possible side effects e.g. hyperpigmentation, burns, etc (I have not experienced any side effects). Don't go for cheaper options, this is something you should go for more high end devices for safety. The best machines like the one I use detect the colour of your skin before every zap and change intensity of the laser accordingly. If skin colour is too dark it will not work. I use the one from Braun but Philips is also a good brand (they cost around 300-700 AUD)

I shave my face too using a dermaplaning device. May I ask how you do it because I have very sensitive skin as well and I experience no irritation after 3 years. I use a gentle facial cleanser then use aloe vera gel over areas i am going to shave. Then with new or freshly disinfected and sharp dermaplaning blade I shave in a downward motion in the direction of hair growth without too much force and avoiding going over the same area too many times :)

It would be great if you can give some information about the devices that people use for laser at home.
Im 18 and I've been doing laser hair removal at home for 4 months. I use an ipl machine which uses Intense Pulsed Light as a semi-permanent hair removal method. Usually results last for a couple years but if you do maintenance after all sessions are done every once in a while, results last forever. In between sessions, you cannot wax or thread only shave because the root must stay intact otherwise you won't see any results. Pain is minimal only feels like a hot rubber band flicking the skin. Since it is an at home device and not with a professional, please do your research before buying because skin colour plays a huge role in the effectiveness of the device and eliminating any possible side effects e.g. hyperpigmentation, burns, etc (I have not experienced any side effects). Don't go for cheaper options, this is something you should go for more high end devices for safety. The best machines like the one I use detect the colour of your skin before every zap and change intensity of the laser accordingly. If skin colour is too dark it will not work. I use the one from Braun but Philips is also a good brand (they cost around 300-700 AUD)

Trimmer is good for ppl with peach fuzz but ppl like me who get thick hair on chin n uppr lips should avoid trimmere at all cost, yes the hair do not come thicker but they appear to be quite thick at first and do look like that untill they are grown quite a bit, and thats exactly what we dont want right?

Ma'am, I have sensitive skin, using facial razors gives me bumps and acne. What should I use so that I don't harm my face?
I shave my face too using a dermaplaning device. May I ask how you do it because I have very sensitive skin as well and I experience no irritation after 3 years. I use a gentle facial cleanser then use aloe vera gel over areas i am going to shave. Then with new or freshly disinfected and sharp dermaplaning blade I shave in a downward motion in the direction of hair growth without too much force and avoiding going over the same area too many times :)

I've been doing it for 3 years after finding waxing and threading my sideburns and cheeks too painful and I can assure you my facial hair has not become thicker or grown faster. But I know what you mean, it only appears thicker because naturally your hair has a thin, pointed tip so hair appears thin and fine. Shaving cuts it horizontally which makes the tip appear blunt instead of thin and pointed. So hair looks thicker because of the removal of fine tip but it is still same thickness :)
