This is so awesome! I was the Trombone Sections Leader, Band Vice President and Drum Major from 1997-1998. Mr. Hutchinson is a very underrated instructor that should be recognized for the many lives he's helped save over the years, and also for helping keep music alive in our schools. #Outstanding work with this project!
I went to high school with Hutch III's nephew and we were both in the band. His family moved to La from LA in the 80s. Our band director was also a Grambling graduate who played for Hutch Jr. We weren't the best band then, that honor went to another band in the city whose directors (they had two, one of whom was roommates with the current head director at GSU) also attended Grambling with our director. Our director went back to Grambling as an assistant director in the late 90s. We had some good times back then. We were always invited to march in their homecoming parade and compete in the homecoming botb. You don't see a lot of show bands west of TX. PVAMU is the furthest west you're going to see an HBCU band. Inglewood is good, but they could stand to be a little more polished.
Do you know what year this band was? Im in the marching band this year, going to be a junior. Seems like im watching this pretty late lol. But yeah, i love band

Mr. Hutchinson is a legend! I was in the drum line 89-90. I’ll never forget my experience being part of the Inglewood Sentinel Marching Band. 🥁
