When the WRC was at it's peak in the early to mid 90's, every Japanese manufacturer had an awesome 2.0 4WD turbo car...Celica GT4, Gallant VR4, Lancer evo/GSR ,Subaru Legacy/Liberty RS, WRX , Pulsar GTiR and Mazda Familla GTR...In those days the road going cars were not that far removed from the race versions so the average joe could with a few mods get a little taste of what Colin McRae and Tommi Makinen were experiencing.......I miss the great turbo era of the 90's.
They were great times! You could get close to drivers and the action, particularly on the Forrest stages..close enough to get a face full of Perth's unique and very slippery ''ball bearing gravel'' lol
Had a black one of these in Oz in '93-4. Mine was 3rd one complianced in Australia. Daily driver, great car. Bit thirsty though. But great fun to drive and at the time a real head turner, due to rarity.
I've only seen one in person in my life here in Northern California. It was a black right hand drive one some years ago. Right away I knew what it was.
Great video Dan. I love the GTI-R, back in the 90s, i used to see a lot of these every weekend & at car cruises, but i hardly see any anymore, i've also driven a few when i worked testing imports & they are pretty rapid & a lot of fun :) QOTD- I've got nothing as i don't really watch the news or have a news paper, mainly because it's always bad news. Keep up the good work bud :)
Love the massive interwarmer. A friend is using one as his daily driver. As for news, or what I caught of the TV as I walked past it (I don't care anymore) I think the Aussie government unveiled 15 new surveillance planes to catch boat people and drug submarines. The Boeing P-8A Poseidon (modified 737). Wikipedia says they cost $200 million dollars EACH.
those things were the only thing we could imagine about the sr20-engines and the GTR's back in the 90's. I always hated the fact that the GTR never came to Europe. Such a missed opportunity... either way, great video.
Oh, and to answer the question of the day....I was in the news.... all over Japan. The one day station master for Usa station. That was actually quite amazing as an experience.
Love these old things, think Moog from MCM used to have one. In my local news lately, my Mother's work boss crashed his vintage plane, which was quite significant haha.
Try finding a Nissan Altima U13 bluebird ATTESA. It has the same engine and AWD system as the R32. But its rare to find now a days because it only released in Japan, NZ and some were imported to Thailand and Malaysia
The rasheen comes with an sr20de so you can either bolt a turbo onto it or swap a gtir motor as it uses the same drivetrain and gearbox if i can remember correctly :) Theres at least 3 rasheens on the UK GTIR forum with SR20DET swaps
Thanks for sharing! I'm a big fan of the GTiR after I spotted one over a year ago. You forgot to check if this one had the umbrella in the door sill! :o QOTD: No real news, but I heard some rumors Bosozoku Style is going to reprint their coloring book with additional pages... :P
i'm sure i'm wrong but i think of a hatchback version of the first gen primera which i love a lot. that pulsar though, really cool. about the black one, for a pulsar like that, if 18000 yen was the actual price, that might be really cheap, 2000 less than my uncle's honda life, one year of shaken left for just 20000, that was a bargain :P. question of the day: breaking news! (very sad actually) larco mar's cinema and bowling burned down early this morning, 5 people reported dead and like 13 still missing inside, probably dead too, really really sad, i really have good memories from larcomar :(
My bit of news is the big earthquake that happened in my country of New Zealand it was felt throughout most of the north island. I live on the opposite side to where the earthquake occurred and I still got woken up by the tsunami siren!
In Melbourne, I don't see many gti-r's.. some though. All I have is 'Horror World' article I glimpsed at on the cover of a month old paper today, some people flipped a raft in dreamworld and got... wiped out.
I been close to buying one several times, but living in Sweden im worried about service parts. Im thinking gearbox and dive train that probably will breakdown eventually, and have in some sales posts I see. And that's the only reason why I dont own one ... yet.
something that caught my eye in the news... I just seen that some person decided to hit a traffic enforcer with their car and the CCTV caught it on camera... dude was sprawled out on the hood hanging on to the hood lip at the bottom of the windshield
no real news in Staunton.... sigh. Sorry. Neat little car, though. Looks to be a legit alternative to a WRX, or EVO. But, we didn't get either of those in the States until after the 2000's started. We always miss out on the good stuff.
You'd think so, but the only people who notice are 16 year old JDM fanboys who can't afford a $500 Honda. Everyone else thinks it's just some boring early 90's japanese hatchback
Because of the piece of shit that the US got as a "Pulsar" that's the first thing people think of when I tell them what I have. They've usually lost interest after I tell them lol

Geez, you've got me missing it too. ;-)
I'd sell my left testie for this vehicle. Great job finding this gem. Love your videos
Verum Quaerere Seek Truth I'd consider selling both ;)
Group A glory days
They were great times! You could get close to drivers and the action, particularly on the Forrest stages..close enough to get a face full of Perth's unique and very slippery ''ball bearing gravel'' lol
We had a different body style Pulsar here in the States around that time, but we didn't have a high performance variant. That one is very sweet.

Thanks :)
Awesome GTI-R
These are just as rare in Malaysia. Only 2 or 3 of these around here, and one of them belongs to a friend of mine.
@WasabiCars earlier today i was on my way home from work i saw a while Toyota AE92 GTi with same type spolier too! ☺
Oh, and to answer the question of the day....I was in the news.... all over Japan. The one day station master for Usa station. That was actually quite amazing as an experience.
awesome guy near me gas a base model pulsar of the same generation but it still looks cool
QOTD. The grand tour drops on Amazon prime in 1 day. Yes top gear is back!
G'day Dan'l. Nice looking car. I haven't seen a Nissan Pulsar since the 80s. This is way better looking than what was offered here in the USA. :)
Love these old things, think Moog from MCM used to have one. In my local news lately, my Mother's work boss crashed his vintage plane, which was quite significant haha.
Geez. I hope he walked away from it. :/
Yeah he's good but the plane doesn't have a smooth panel left on it :(
Too bad we never got them here in South Africa, or really any other awesome 90s JDM goodness. Really dig these lil cars, ta for the vid.
Thanks ;-)
Mine's sticker is hinting on that it has a ECU tuned by Mine's and it's very likely for a car with that kind of mods.
The start of the car made me tickled. Beautful done!!
:D
0:40 a true anime car doing its natural sounds

Rasheen uses the same floor as the GTIR. Many people swap the GTIR engine into the rasheens
It does? Did not know. Though, I did hear URAS tuned a Rasheen that was meant to be a real ball tearer. No surprises if it got the engine swap.

Great news! Does that make my original version more collectable? ;D
Beautiful. Love that car!
i want to own a gti-r one day. The left hand drive gti-r's called Nissan Sunny here in europe. The lhd gti-r are really rare and expensive
they go for around 6-10k in standard trim here in NZ but we cant import them here anymore due to failing frontal impact standards
i'm sure i'm wrong but i think of a hatchback version of the first gen primera which i love a lot. that pulsar though, really cool. about the black one, for a pulsar like that, if 18000 yen was the actual price, that might be really cheap, 2000 less than my uncle's honda life, one year of shaken left for just 20000, that was a bargain :P.

welly based man and its been hectic, news has been just uggh in these crazy times.
I need one of these, found a few for 7k here, I'm glad they don't have the ridiculous fanboy tax that other cool cars have
Where are you from ? In Europe it's like 20k
In Melbourne, I don't see many gti-r's.. some though. All I have is 'Horror World' article I glimpsed at on the cover of a month old paper today, some people flipped a raft in dreamworld and got... wiped out.
i seen the first real GTIR in my life a few weeks ago here in Sydney
Thats surprising really they are awesome cars.
Funnily enough, I mentioned that to the wife just a few hours ago. Us and the kids rode that very rise in Aug 2015. Messed up.
No way!, that sort of thing feels strange to think about. But back to the car Daniel, that was a good moment seeing you start that thing up.
Yes, and I hope I get to drive a few interesting cars soon. :)
Great find! Very rare here in the UK too :(
Thx :)
I been close to buying one several times, but living in Sweden im worried about service parts. Im thinking gearbox and dive train that probably will breakdown eventually, and have in some sales posts I see. And that's the only reason why I dont own one ... yet.
This seems like the type of car that will go up in value. But, as you say, sourcing parts can be troublesome.
awesome vid as per
here in the uk as we have left the EU it would seem all our chocolate bars have gotten smaller :(
I love the wheels!
I always wanted Pre-facelift Nissan Sunny N13 but the only ones I've seen are either a 1.6L or 1.3L :(
something that caught my eye in the news... I just seen that some person decided to hit a traffic enforcer with their car and the CCTV caught it on camera... dude was sprawled out on the hood hanging on to the hood lip at the bottom of the windshield
I think where these known as Sunnys in the UK market
Nice beanie!!
Waaaooo... A true pocket rocket!
;-)
the only bit of news was that the creators of pokemon are coming to portugal for the comic-con in december this year
Nice
This car has a lot of variants right? I remember it has NA version as well.
I've seen a few in the UK
I like it very much!!!
no real news in Staunton.... sigh. Sorry. Neat little car, though. Looks to be a legit alternative to a WRX, or EVO. But, we didn't get either of those in the States until after the 2000's started. We always miss out on the good stuff.
Would be good if the new guy would lift the age limit of car imports. :)
WasabiCars no joke, right!!!
I would love one of these :D
Hermoso Pulsar..
nice,a pulsar haha :D about qotd...i dont rly watch news so i have nothing to add to this lel
Good idea. My parents get triggered by the news in a big way. So sad to see.
I LOVE Pulsars!
Man I want to import one of these
Great cars that were let down by a bad gear box.
i only see one of those in my life
and i piss myself
Are there many t12 austers in Japan?
I've not seen any Auster, ever. :/
WasabiCars ah that's a shame. There's white hatchback one I see everyday but that's
..about it
They were called bluebirds here though
Did you find out how much hp it makes?
Nope
I have 2 of them in the US now.
Nice. I bet they get a lot of attention :)
You'd think so, but the only people who notice are 16 year old JDM fanboys who can't afford a $500 Honda. Everyone else thinks it's just some boring early 90's japanese hatchback

Nice. I'm searching through the auction sites so I can roll around in one of these in California
I saw a B.C. plated one in WA once.
I am on holidays....
i stopped watching the news too negative so no news is good news.
I feel exactly the same way
+Douglas Holloran
Glad i'm not the only one :)
Sir, what's the chances of you sending me a WasabiCars sticker?
you mumble in Japanese well.
;-)
