This one of FFVI's most memorable songs for me. My first time playing this I spent much longer than I should have walking back and forth on that train trying to figure out what to do, lol. Eventually the music really made me feel like I was losing my mind a bit XD
A pity that Square removed the ability for Sabin to Suplex the train engine during the boss battle in the GBA rerelease while citing it as an unintended bug, as I found it quite hilarious to see the musclehead in my party being the only one capable of picking up an entire train engine only to slam it back down hard on the train tracks. 😆
@jolis Parsec That's disappointing. Guess I was lucky to have sprung for a modded gba cartridge of the game first. It's made to more closely resembles the SNES visuals, but I guess it restores more than just that,, cause in my game I could suplex the train.
Just played through this part in the PR, i forgot you could let one of the ghosts hang out with you. doesn't even turn on you at any point, just waves goodbye before you reach the front of the train. Great scene with this great music. :)
For years I would come back to this theme, I have played a few Final Fantasy titles, but yet not this one. I hope to try this in the near future as I take on the Final Fantasy quest from the first to the latest. Such an oddly calm and relaxing theme considering this train is taking you to a place you’ll never return from.
Everybody likes to talk about the suplex, but forgot the chilling, haunting experience of being inside the ghost train itself.

I was wondering why I wasn't able to do it when I played in GBA. I had thought I did something wrong

odd, my rom of the gba port let me do it, and it's unaltered as far as I could tell.
