I'm so happy I've discovered Yamaha instruments. The quality is astounding, such talented crafters, I hope they're being paid enough for their great work
I had a Yamaha A1R. Nice guitar, most certainly, and I knew that the guitar was mostly hand built but I just couldn't get over what hands were making it. I took it back and got a made in USA Martin. Now it just feels right. Call me what you want but when it comes to a guitar that is funneling music made from my heart, it needs to feel like home.
I own two Yamaha guitars a NTX1200 and the latest being the SLG200s . Wonderful guitars and sound and finish to match I have never had to set up any Yamaha guitar, just perfect straight from the factory can't wait to try the new Transacoustic
Yamaha acoustics are hands-down the best guitars that come from China. They are the only company who fully employs the Chinese worker and trains them according to Yamaha Japan’s specifications and demand for excellence; the precision and craftsmanship parallel American made guitars.
I have just exchanged my Taylor Academy fir a Chinese Yamaha LL6 and i am very very pleased with the swap nice to see Yamaha have there own Chinese factories. Also have Tokai Japan and China guitars other large guitar makers wake up !!!!!
Been avidly learning acoustic guitar for the past 2 years. I have more money than sense (or talent). Been through Martins from D-18 and D-28 to D-JR, X series and Road series. Tried all the Taylors under $3K. The only ones I kept were the Martin D-18 and Martin D-JR. Bought a Yamaha LL-TA and immediately put the D-18 up for sale. Wow. By any comparison, the Yamaha is in another universe of sound and quality. Why is it $2K less than the D-18? union/American labor I suppose...and I HATE TO SAY THAT! China is our economic enemy right now but I'll be damned if I am going to pass up these masterpieces out of principle. Just ordered another one.
I bought the Yamaha FS 100c that is made in Indonesia and I have bad reviews on the quality control of the product that does not match the description in the video. I can provide pictures of some defects, to whom can I send in order to get an appropriate response?
I can assure you that indonesian yamaha really has a bad QC, had 2 guitars from Indonesian Yamaha could spot many cosmetic defects (just like MIM fender). And i just got chinesse yamaha, i can tell that (after hours of inspection) the finish is really neat and near perfect. Even the bindings connected perfectly. I even dared to put it against mid-end MIM Martin or Taylor that cost 3x. Also note that Indonesian Yamaha are mostly produced low-end guitar (sub 300$), while the chinesse factory produce mid-end (sub 1k $), and the japanese produce high-end. We can't really compare each factory level craftsmanship and quality.
To be honest, when I hear that something is made in China I become hesistant to make a purchase based on bad experiences of Chinese products being of poor quality. However Yamaha classical guitars have a fantastic reputation of consistent good quality and it was very intersting to see them being made. They're obviously doing something right. Always good to know that every guitar gets inspected and set up before leaving! I would be suprised if other makers didn't do this.
Just got a left fg today mahogany/nato and bear claw spruce and it’s one of the most comfy guitars I’ve ever experienced And it puts my Martin dx to shame
I had a hekkuva time convincing my son that his guitar had laminated rosewood instead of solid rosewood sides and back on his Yamaha. Like the ole saying "98% persperation - 2% inspiration" involved in learning to play guitar. It's more the player than what the guitar is made of. Buy a Yamaha you wont be dissappointed!!!
I ask Yamaha support about laminated rosewood on my fg830. And they say it is three ply rosewood. Here he told that there is meranty between rosewood layers. Who knows the truth?
I just bought a Yamaha FG800 a week ago. As an owner of mid range Martins, Gibsons and Epiphones over the last 70 years I was skeptical of Chinese made quality. Early 2019 my son bought an FG830 and my perceptions changed. I bought his son a Yamaha F335. Are these lo end Yamahas equal to Martins I've owned? No. But for the amount of cash spent relative to quality? Good bang for the buck. I thot I liked my sons 830 but I've happy with my 800.
I'm very dissspointed to see no hearing protection on the workers. Those machines are loud. Over time, these people stand to lose much of their hearing. Something tragic when they are making musical instruments. This makes me feel worse about my fg700s. Earplugs are cheap, Yamaha, do the right thing.

Yamaha was making musical instruments long before they were making powersports equipment and motorcycles. And that much is in their logo, three tuning forks superimposed over each other.
Yamaha craftsmanship is actually NOT in the quality of the instruments themselves but in the worker's speed and the company's efficient assembly process. It yields a very good under $400. guitar, but not a great guitar. Yammy next level guitars are within their custom shop instruments. Takamine, Seagull (Godin) and Blueridge (Saga) also do an equally good job at the lower priced guitars, but Martin and Taylor are definitely next level all the way up to their custom instruments. After that, you get to the boutique guitars... Goodall, Santa Cruz, Olsen, McPhereson, Collings, Lowden, etc.
Yamahas are actually a very good value. I will admit that in general they don't play as well as the the higher end Martins. I have a D-18 that is amazing. I bought an LL16 for less than a third of the price of the Martin. It is great for gigging and a beautiful instrument. I take it places that I would not take my Martin and am very impressed with its tone and playability.

would you please make a new factory touring film? this one is really old
When I first tried out my Yamaha at the store I couldn't believe it was made in China. The fit and finish are outstanding.
I had a Yamaha A1R. Nice guitar, most certainly, and I knew that the guitar was mostly hand built but I just couldn't get over what hands were making it. I took it back and got a made in USA Martin. actually doesn't matter where the guitar comes from if you feel 'at home' playing it
I own two Yamaha guitars a NTX1200 and the latest being the SLG200s . Wonderful guitars and sound and finish to match I have never had to set up any Yamaha guitar, just perfect straight from the factory can't wait to try the new Transacoustic
Yamaha has always made a great guitar for decades now. I have an APX 1000 and a APX 10.

Excellent Made Guitars 🎸
Got me a FG 750S (Sycamore) and love it.

Where are the 12-string acoustics made?
This is very impressive!
@boleynali Yamaha was making musical LONG before they started making motorcycles. Think late 1800's.

Is it made in china too?
@@GggG-og5mp Indonesia I thought

Also no eye protection anywhere. Safety glasses are cheap too. And that bandsaw, yikes.

@patsaxon I know what you feel. I'm sure Yamaha guitars must be made by Japanese superior workmen.
Levar p china yamaha aí cavou mesmo
There's no reason why Chinese craftspeople cant make great guitars IMHO.
I totally agree, The Chinese have really excelled in the last 15 years
@patsaxon coz its cheap. Bt electric guitars ar made in taiwan
theres something not right owning a guitar thats got the same name as a motorbike.

guitartec I bought a Martin but returned it 2 weeks later became it was too hard on my fingers .
I'm hurt.... Not really.
Made cheap in china, sell expensive in America. Hope trump fixes that.
MrTHL1 they are not expensive. And some of the best guitars I've played. Rock on!
Mr#1 yeah your income is dropping to Chinese level
yamaha is trash. If you want a real and good guitar you have to buy a taylor or martin. i own all three brands.
The Japanese made hand crafted ones are as good or better than Martin. You would be looking at 8500 usd though
