Glad you made this video. I purchased two of these foiler tools about six years ago and had forgotten how to load them since they haven't seen use for awhile. I kept thinking, "they couldn't have been loaded sticky side down", but couldn't figure any other way for them to work. Now I look forward to using them again.
Unfortunately Glastar had a warehouse fire last fall and lost everything. I haven't heard if they are going to continue in business or close permanently.
You should be holding it on the sides, never on the top where the foil is. I've always thought this was a design flaw, I think it should peel the adhesive away at the top right before it goes onto the glass, not at the beginning, just because of this. Maybe the people that copied it and are manufacturing them now will figure out a way to change the design.
The clash at warehouse burned down last year so they are no longer made (inventory burned in fire) but I believe Someone is now making a "knock-off" available through Mongo's Stained Glass - Google search for Guy's Somer's store.
I was going through boxes today and found a couple - I just listed them on my etsy shop so if you hurry over there you can snag one - only have 1 7/32, but 4 1/4 (which is what I use with the 7/32 tape)
That did help. This was the clearest video I have seen. Thank you
Keep it simple is my motto! Glad it helped

They are not made anymore so hold on to them!
@@SandyKJohnsonGlassworks Thank you for letting me know! I didn't know they were discontinued. Glad I bought both the 1/4" and 7/32" sizes.
Thank you so much for posting this video. It really helped me 😊
So glad you like it. Nothing fancy, but just good simple explanation 😊
Thanks - your demo answered all my questions!
Thank you so much for making this video. It’s extremely helpful!
Seeing it makes it so much easier than the instruction sheet! Glad it helped!
Thank you, I have hand foilers and they or I can't get them centered all the way around the glass. I will try some of your techniques.
Thank you. I found this really helpful.
I'm glad it helped - nothing fancy, but useful!
Thank you so much !! This video is extremely helpful!
So glad it helped- I like to kep things simple!
Thank you for giving these instructions. I have had this tool and no one knew how to load it. Where can you buy the additional sizes?

@@SandyKJohnsonGlassworks thank you
Super helpful!
So glad it helped! Now, hopefully Glastar will decide to continue in business and start making them again (they lost everything in a fire last fall)
My foil keeps sticking to the tool after I cut it when I'm done with my piece and then it's a mess to unstick... What am I doing wrong?

Do you know where I can find these

Where can I purchase a Glastar Hand Foiler?
Mongos stained glass is offering a version of it now. The original is no longer being made due to catastrophic warehouse fire.
How much are the foilers?
I no longer carry them. But try artglassville.com
Thank you. I don't think I'm smart enough to figure this out on my own!
Does anyone know where I can get one of these for 7/32 I can't find them anywhere!
The factory burned down and they are notb planning on rebuilding.

@@SandyKJohnsonGlassworks I couldn't find your etsy. Could you send me a link? I'd kill to have one
@@makaylaholcom3494 it is theglassflowercart.etsy.com or search my name, for some reason it won't let me share the link on my tablet.

Glad to help!
