- Blake Wilkey has spent the last several years dreaming about building the first ever Trophy Bug, a fully functional Unlimited Truck chassis wrapped in a VW Bug body. The VW bug is one of the original vehicle platforms that started off-road racing and is still raced today in Class 11, Class 5-1600 and Class 5 Unlimited. Now with the help of his partner, Kevin Butts of Quixotic Motorsports, Blake is making the Trophy Bug a reality. Blake and Kevin have designed and built the #TTBug from the ground up with the goal of debuting the radical new vehicle at the 2021 BFGoodrich Tires Mint 400.

I've honestly been waiting for this ever since I drew my first trophy bug and you know what I thought this was never possible because the last Volkswagen as a trophy truck was in 2008 in the Baja 1000 and now 13 years later boom you have this monstrosity in a good way though I'm saying this in the good way and you know what I drew my first trophy bug before these guys can I was just only 12 I don't know when I first thought of Volkswagen trophy truck I was like 2 years ago and now there's an actual trophy bug about to race I really do hope they win and I really do hope that they also bring the trophy truck to the Baja 1000 as well because not many of the cars in the mint or in American off-road racing don't really go to the Bahama 1000 so I'm hoping after this build of a monstrosity wins they're not really really hope I see this one Baja 1000 it'd be more than a dream of mine
