My dear, for ribbon we are not using thick material, like thick cotton and other fabric which has much thickness and thin chiffon is also not good for this because ribbon makes hole in this material, these types of material are hard to use for beginners but not hard for those who well known this embroidery because they know the tricks to deal with ribbon. You can do this on thick chiffon and on semi cotton fabric easily, and for a needle, u can use a big eye and thick needle. I am using chenille needles and these are specially made for ribbon but if you don't have the availability of these needles then use any needle which has a big eye.Thanks

My dear, this is a milliner needle and you can use any long needle with big eye particular for this design otherwise I used needles by chennile , these are especially for ribbon embroidery and I have no idea these are available in all countries or not I am in Canada and bought these needles from here, but I saw there is not a big difference between these needles and other regular needles except a big eye. Oh , but you can make this with a bigger ribbon , not very big but a little bit bigger than this otherwise I uploaded a new ribbon flower video today to make those flowers and adjust in your embroidery.
