I agree with janis best of 7 makes more sense than pulling all 5 rounds. If you win the first 3 then the other two kind of don't matter. But with best of 7 if you win the first 3 there is still a chance for the opponent to turn the match around.
That makes no sense. Whether people are pulling Best of 5 or Best of 7, the later rounds don't matter if the person wins the minimum amount of rounds required to win the match In fact, if someone wins the first 4 rounds in a Beat of 7, the last 3 rounds mean nothing. But just simply from observing... during the time Devon claimed stem cells came to play he has become more versatile with his style. It's like the old elbow injuries do not bug him that much and he is more confident using the moves his injuries prevented him from using that many years. Also the speed of the recovery of his biceps after the Levan match was insane. He's not stupid, he accepted the next match not long after the last one and it worked out for him. This all together seems incredible to me from a nearly 50 y old man.
Best of 7 means that you have to pull 4 rounds to win, but best of 6 means you have to win 4 rounds and pulls 2 more round so 6 rounds. Bo5 for standard and Bo7 for title matches sounds interesting, I'd like to know what Engin thinks about this. Full 5 or 6 round matches don't make sense, as stated by so many athletes all the time. It should always be best of 5 or best of 7, with any remaining rounds after a secured win being purely for fun, if the athletes wish. I don't mind that different promotions have different ways of doing things, otherwise we may as well only have the one promotion (EvW). I wouldn't mind seeing someone do an arm wars style event where athletes come with one match (just best of 3) on the card but can choose to pull multiple opponents, decided on the day. The impromptu matches could even be held on a second day.

I disagree. I kinda like the idea of championship being of 7 rounds and race to four. Hear me out. Normal matches will carry with best of 5 anyway and competitors need to have some level of elite strength to quality for a championship match and then the championship match should be 7 rounds because a champion should not only be strong but should have endurance and ability to adapt imo.
We thought the same with prudnik yet he kept fighting Devon. There comes a point in fighting in the setup where you can either keep fighting and test your endurance or just grit your teeth and take what grip you can get. Ermes has been very particular with getting a good grip in previous matches. He blamed his loss to Matt mask due to it in WAL. And he took a while to get a grip with Dave chaffee when they pulled.

Coach Ray, awesome video as always. I have a question. What do you think think about the rules that the round resets if one person fouls no matter the position? I feel that if the person is in a losing position and deliberately fouls to try get a reset, they should actually lose the round instead. I've seen many matches lost because one of the pullers abuses this and resets the round by lifting up their elbow before they can be pinned. This is highly advantageous for those with high endurance. Would be great to hear from you, as you have a lot of match experience
I think you two have underestimated devons ability. Devon looked better against Dave chaffee then did ermes. It is going to be a great match, but I am pulling for Devon.

Seems to me they intentionally avoids testing some guys will juice like crazy and avoid tested competitons. EvsW is all about putting on a show for the views in my opinion. There are tested leagues, which seems like they are inactive atleast in the bigger media. Only real risk for EvsW is that juicing generalt creates a high risk of injury meaning athletes need to deop out.
What about Ermes ladyboy fans? Yeah i think it might be clean sweep for Ermezzz, but Devon is way stronger than against Genadi. I am big Devon fan,even 1 pin would be miracle i think. But in the other hand i think hmm.

Go watch the old Ermes vs MMT match - Ermes' flop press was amazing - he was jumping off the floor to get into it. And he has all the power needed as seen vs Levan when he held him above the pad with no wrist and then cranked him back to center and forced Levan to elbow foul.

Another question I have in strength competitions competitors peak. I don't see that ermes is at peak strength. He more than likely was with levan. Levan is smarter than Devon and ermes that he doesn't pull as often so he can be at peak strength .
i think 1st round is a devon kings move, I dont think ermes can crack devons wrist, second round, ermes tries to hook devon, that could go either way, third round ermes tries a flop press.
I Agree with Janis and Ray on that it should just be best of 7 being the way it should be. Especially if they are considering the rankings to be mainly from east vs west and kott, then why not have both organizations with the same amount of rounds
If Devon is really pain free as advertised shilling for biologics it could be really good. We know those joint pains we get in certain angles can tweak things just a little off from where your planning to go.
Real Problem with ermes is his insane back pressure, you can almost get him very near the pin pad and boom he starts hitting those back pressure attacks 🤯 and your back to the starting position , then bam comes another one your hand hits the table 😂

There’s not a significant strength difference. This isn’t 2018-2019 Devon Devon is stronger in some ways and Ermes as well.

I think Ermes will win, although I'm cheering for Devon. One thing I can say is that Devon won't lose his wrist. He's got the strongest pronator in the game. Even Levan couldn't take his wrist, just his bicep. Either way, I'm super excited.

Seems to me they intentionally avoids testing some guys will juice like crazy and avoid tested competitons. EvsW is all about putting on a show for the views in my opinion. There are tested leagues, which seems like they are inactive atleast in the bigger media. Only real risk for EvsW is that juicing generalt creates a high risk of injury meaning athletes need to deop out.

Go watch the old Ermes vs MMT match - Ermes' flop press was amazing - he was jumping off the floor to get into it. And he has all the power needed as seen vs Levan when he held him above the pad with no wrist and then cranked him back to center and forced Levan to elbow foul.

Another question I have in strength competitions competitors peak. I don't see that ermes is at peak strength. He more than likely was with levan. Levan is smarter than Devon and ermes that he doesn't pull as often so he can be at peak strength .

I Agree with Janis and Ray on that it should just be best of 7 being the way it should be. Especially if they are considering the rankings to be mainly from east vs west and kott, then why not have both organizations with the same amount of rounds

Real Problem with ermes is his insane back pressure, you can almost get him very near the pin pad and boom he starts hitting those back pressure attacks 🤯 and your back to the starting position , then bam comes another one your hand hits the table 😂
