I understand what you're saying about the Ekko-centric episode but I actually think it was good to have there, the main problem might be that they cut so much Jinx and Ekko content from the finale which would have made that whole journey have a bit more of an impact. Ekko seeing this better world shows US that there could have been more, but also takes a hard step into showing how Jinx is a product of her environment, not just destined for what happened to her in the show. It also really fleshes out Ekko and his character, and how he'll sacrifice his happiness to protect people-- he's the most heroic of the cast I'd argue. And ultimately what he learned saved Jinx when she needed it. If we got those cut scenes with Ekko and Jinx working together on their outfits and stuff, showing Jinx that there's a Powder out there who isn't just some screw-up, then I think it would make more sense, but even without that, Ekko uses what he's gained to assist in the finale, he's changed. There's also the contrast between Jace fighting through hell while Ekko has to leave behind heaven which is just brilliant, also the story in that alternate world is just really nice, I love a lot about it and the dance scene absolutely blew me away! Of course I understand what you're saying, but I wanted to play devil's advocate for one of my favourite episodes. The main problem I think is Arcane could have used an extra episode, or even just 15 more minutes in the finale.
@@totallynotafanficreader7850 i completely agree with you. It definitely gave us a lot more of Ekko and allowed him to fleshed out. I appreciated the concept a lot, but I just wish it had been integrated into the plot a little better. That episode just starts with virtually no context (and I understand that’s the point), and then they never really address it again. The multiverse concept is something I feel like you really need to bake into your story and to randomly throw it in there felt weird. But again, I too thought it was a good episode. I’m more so taking issue with its placement and establishment as opposed to what the direction of the episode was
