We recommend checking with your local waste and water treatment facility for their recommendation. Waste water that has minimal latex paint from your applicators usually can be disposed of in a mop/utility sink. If you have excessive amounts of latex paint in the water, then it is a good idea to strain it through an old scrap t-shirt or towel. Allow any accumulation of latex paint to dry, and dispose of it in your trash.

I don't find this too helpful (a) in a newly built house without a sink or hot water yet, (b) anywhere where I'd rather not ruing the sink with paint, (c) in Europe, where we can't legally rinse paint down the drain
